Hi,

I have some question regarding filing for Canada PR. Below is the list seniors pls help...

1. I worked in US for 2 years and then transferred to H4 due to family situation. I have 5+ years of software experience, can I apply for PR under Federal skilled worker class?
2. My Uncle is in Canada and he is a canadian citizen for some time, that is the reason I want to be the primary applicant instead of my spouse being primary(so I can gain more points). does this makes sense? or is it better for my spouse to be the primary applicant. He has over 10 years exp and is working in US for past 5 years and is currently working for a US company which has a very good presence in Canada.
3. I went through the cic.gc.ca website and instructions are pretty straight fwd. I am planning to file the application myself. is it advisable? or shall I go for a consultancy. please also mentions any pitfalls while filling the forms so I am aware.

Please advice..

Thanks,

Only if you qualify under NOC 0213(Computer Managers) - if not it is a waste of time and you will be rejected. Unfortunately, all other IT positions including Software Developer, Systems Analyst, Programmer, Software Engineer etc - NONE of them are eligible for Canadian Permanent Residence.
2. My Uncle is in Canada and he is a canadian citizen for some time, that is the reason I want to be the primary applicant instead of my spouse being primary(so I can gain more points). does this makes sense? or is it better for my spouse to be the primary applicant. If you qualify under NOC 0213 and have the backup documentation to prove it - then apply yourself as the primary applicant since you will get extra points for your uncle.
3. I went through the cic.gc.ca website and instructions are pretty straight fwd. I am planning to file the application myself. is it advisable? or shall I go for a consultancy. please also mentions any pitfalls while filling the forms so I am aware.
If you qualify - apply yourself - you dont need a consultant.

Please advice..

To qualify you must have worked under one of the 38 MI occupations for one year in last 10 years. You should have reference letter from employer to prove that. Once you qualify with job requirements you need to get 67 points.

2. My Uncle is in Canada and he is a canadian citizen for some time, that is the reason I want to be the primary applicant instead of my spouse being primary(so I can gain more points). does this makes sense? or is it better for my spouse to be the primary applicant. Any one who qualifies can apply. In filed of computes only one job is listed 0213 (computer and information managers)

Instructions are simple, you can get lot of help from forum, it is easy to apply on your own.

Please advice..
