It was upfront medical. We did medical May 2020 then AOR June 2020 then they started reviewing medical on Aug 2020. Same day when we got R10 ok and biometrics request. Since we already have biometrics ready (because of temporary resident extension) they just used the same biometrics.

Hi All,

I just registered this account only to follow this thread.

I have a kid with autism too, and he was only diagnosed ASD several months after we got our first COPRs in late March 2020.

By the time we did our first medical check back in 2019, my kid was only a baby at 1 year old and too early to even realize he might be on the spectrum. It was such a frustration that we missed the March 18 cut-off in just a couple of days...

Since our COPRS are now expired due to COVID and travel restrictions, I recently received new medical request for all my family including my ASD kid... Now he is 3 years old and I’m extremely worried about the medicals.

We haven’t done the medicals yet because I haven’t decided whether I should tell about my kid’s ASD diagnosis during the medical check. We also don’t have any assessment / IEP / school reports as supporting documents.

Really need positive news from this thread and please share any progress you have here and I will too.

Update:

Due to the impacts of COVID-19

  • we’re experiencing processing delays
  • we’re prioritizing applications from people who are exempt from travel restrictions
  • depending on your application type, you may not have heard from us or seen changes in your application status
    • If you’ve had a medical exam or given biometrics, they won’t show in your account until we process them.
    • We currently have a backlog of medical exams to process, but when we do process them, you’ll see them in your account.

And that's why I don't understand why they still keep delaying our medicals when autism falls under section 2...

Nothing to worry about but they will ask a pediatrician to examine his case or the diagnosis of the child's autism.
Only thing that to worry about, It may take time until they pass your medical exam..
As far as I see and it's only my opinion, dependents with ASD takes 6-12 month to approve their medical.
