Hi all,
I graduated in this December and already got a job offer. But now I am worried about the PGWP. From what I gathered from the international student office, I was technically part time due to a late withdrawal in my first semester. The withdrawal was caused by registering at a course not needed for my major due to slow administration. But 1) as it was withdrawal without refund, my transcript shows that I was still full time and I was able to obtain an enrolment letter stating that I was registered full time in that semester. (Not sure if it's a system glitch or sth else). 2) I consulted with an academic advisor prior to the withdrawal, and the advisor approved my withdrawal. I also have a support letter from the advisor stating the fact. 3) I also have an email from another academic advisor which proves that my course selection was very limited at that time, which in turn caused me to register in the wrong course.
I am confused about how should I apply for PGWP. I called the CBSA, and they are still issuing PGWP if I have a job offer demanding work permit (thanks god). The most common approach would be to apply online. However, I am inclined to think that I will be better off flagpoling, since usually the CBSA officers are not that familiar with the PGWP requirements and might overlook the actual number of credits I took that semester? (just my guess). Even if I failed flagpoling, I can still apply online as they don't share the same online system right? I also think that talking to an officer in person will help me explain the matter in more detail with my proofs if they indeed catch the withdrawal.
I read most of the posts here with similar situation as mine, but I would still like you guys to make an assessment of my case. Thank you all in advance.
