Hello people, I hope all is well with you! This is my first post here.

I need to apply for a TRANSIT visa so I can make a flight connection in Toronto. Im flying from Mexico City to Bermuda, connecting a flight in Canada. The wait is less than 12 hours. As I understand from reading on their website, this qualifyes as an exception to current restrictions. So I made my user for applying online, and I read that in order to prioritize the application I must write "COVID-19" under purpose of travel...but the thing is that when I select the TRANSIT VISA on the dropdown menu, it greys-out the option of "Purpuse of Travel"...it only allows to edit that part if you choose VISITOR VISA. I once got a visa for a similar flight (From Mexico to Bermuda) and it says Visitor Visa VH-1 with 2 Entries (it is not marked as a "transit" visa).
So my question is: should I mark this application as a VISITOR VISA and put that COVID-19 "code" that is explained on the same website as to mark it for the evaluators to notice it is an exception? or should I mark the application as a TRANSIT VISA and not put that because it is grayed-out??

Im really confused...the VAC center at Mexico City is closed and Im not sure who or how to ask for help.

I am an Argentina Citizen, with an Argentina Passport and Permanent Residency in Mexico. I am travelling to Bermuda to work for around 3 weeks. I do not need a Bermuda Visa with my Argentina Passport. I do need a Work Permit that the company hiring me is processing as we speak. My fear is that Im not able to connect in Canada, and that would be my only way of flying into Bermuda. So I would like to know if its possible so I continue with my actual contract for Bermuda or if I should explain to them that its not possible to transit through Canada?

ANY info would be gladly appreciated!

Thanks in advaced,

Nicolas.

Because I dont have a US Tourist Visa. I dont need one, nor I want to have one, and as far as I know, the US dont grant "transit" visas...if this is wrong, please correct me.
I have made this trip before, like I said on my post...I'm just worried that the VAC center I did the visa with is closed now in Mexico, and the only way to apply is online, and I am having difficulty on that specific item regarding the "covid19 code" so it is processed like an exception to the restrictions. As far as the info on their website, a transit visa is a exception to their restrictions.

Thanks for the input

You will still need to get a transit visa from Canada which may take a long time even if approved. Would also be applying to the US to make sure you are Keelung your options open. Your itinerary will certainly rpause some concerns versus going through the US.

Thanks...
I feel like im not making myself clear...
I have no intention of making the US visa process (which takes a lot longer, it's more expensive and they treat you far from nice) JUST to transit.
The canadian TRANSIT VISA (which yes, I know I need to get it...thats the whole point of this post) takes considerably less time, it's free and I have already gotten it to make a similar trip to Bermuda in 2017 with no problem whatsoever...really smooth and nice. On top of that there really isn't a price difference flying one way or the other...and the company I'm going to work for in Bermuda are paying for everything, so it's no problem. Its just a couple.more hours, that's all.

My question is if there are some restrictions applied to transit passengers (the website says there is NOT) and if I should apply for a visitors visa even though I'm just transiting so I can put the "COVID19" code on the application form...or just apply for the transit visa which is what I really need and wait. Also if someone has a lead on waiting times now, itd be great...

I'm not asking whether you feel like I should go through the US...that's decided, I will bypass flying into the US for as long as I can do it (dont get me wrong, I've studied in the US and lived there in 2 different stages of my life...) I just prefer to not step on US soil unless it's the only option...let's say "I'd rather shop somewhere else", if you know what I mean....call me an idealist, or an idiot...but I'd much rather buy a coffee in a Canadian airport than in a US one right now...

Thanks again
