I am not clear about some requirements for applying the BOWP when your status is due to expire in less than four months, like do we need to have a job offer which is more than our expiration date ?.
In my case I am currently working here in Canada but after my current work expires, my job offer finishes, so I will have to search for another job. Btw I am yet to receive my AOR number from CIC.

So my question is whether we could apply for BOWP without a job offer, off course when you have a valid status in Canada ?

Thanks in advance

I don't think you need a job offer as long as you have:

valid status

AOR

and

your current WP is due to expire in 4 months. Seniors can confirm.

No you don't need a job offer

Thanks for the info guys. So what do you fill up in the application for your employer info since I dont have offer yet ?. Should I just leave it blank and submit a explanation letter ?

Refer to this post:

(Yes you leave them blank, because it is Bridge OPEN work permit).

Do not fill employer and location of employment.

Cool !!. That link with tips for sending bowp is quite handy.

Btw just so I clearly understand, AOR number that is required for this BOWP is the file number in the first email which we receive from CIC in 6 to 8 weeks after applying PR, which is like E0000XXX..., right ?. though I am awaiting mine and while I checked my friends mail where I am not sure if they say the number as AOR or file number.

Correct, AOR contains your file number.
Here's a sample AOR >> http://cectoolkit.weebly.com/aor.html

And you don't need a job offer to apply for the BOWP. Put 'BOWP - Not applicable' in the fields where it asks you
for details about an employer.

So do you guys suggest that under the application> Details of intended work in Canada
I just fill up as the type of work permit as "Open work permit " and leave the remaining question 2,3,4,5 as empty ?

Btw guys though my current work permit is gonna expire within a month, I still have a old study permit. Do you think this will interfere with the BOWP process ?

Don't leave fields empty. In fields where you're being asked about employer details, I would write something
along "BOWP - Not Applicable" or so. So the VO is aware that you're applying for the BOWP and not a closed
work permit or you've simply forgotten to fill out fields.

@toby or any
If sending it through online, should we sign the main application ?, if so by scanning

No, if you submit online you don't need to sign the documents. Your application will be signed digitally
at the end of the application process.
