Apply urgently for grant of citizenship

There is a reference on the http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-urgent.asp to a urgent processing of the citizenship application.

Has anyone tried this? Any feedback to share?

Reasons for urgent processing listed there are:

• needing Canadian citizenship to:
  • apply for a job
  • avoid losing your job
  • go to a Canadian school, college or university
• needing to travel because of death or serious illness in your family and you can’t get a passport in your current nationality
• receiving a successful Federal Court decision on an appeal on a previous application for citizenship

At least "apply for a job" sounds very broad to me.

It is extremely harder than it appears, in order to be considered you must prove why canadian citizenship is absolutely needed such as you are getting government job that required secrete clearance that if you are not a citizen you will be disqualified, there is very rare cases like this, for example if you are already working on non secrete job for government and then being considered for another one that requires secrete clearance. In 99.999999% of the cases, request for expedite is denied as otherwise most people will try to jump queue, only very exceptional situations go through

I Extremely Agree to deerestlovelybear, We have Requested to have my Wife's Citizenship Application Processed Urgently,because Their passport had expired,And My Mother in Law is Currently dealing with a Very serious illness, But they said They won't process the Application Urgently Because They're can apply for their passport in their Current nationality... Too sad... they Don't accommodate this...

Nothing is luck, it is all hard labour I applied for urgent processing, and for that one it was quite slow, I find.
