Hello

I am very grateful for the information I get in this forum.

We have finished filling in forms for inland PR. I am currently waiting for police clearance from my home country (taking forever sigh)

As we wait, I have become concerned with the status of my dependant child (a minor). It is my understanding that when the PA submits PR (inland application) with OWP and they have a valid visitor status at the time of application, it is then considered as a request to extend their temporary resident status and are considered to have implied status as a visitor, until a decision is made on their work permit application. And if the OWP is refused while the visitor status is still valid, they can then apply to extend their stay; if it refused when their visitor status has expired they can apply to restore their status.

Now what happens with the PA's dependant-minor child's status? If she has a valid visitor status at the time of the PR application, which is expected to expire in about 2 months, should they also include an application for extension of the child's visitor status together with the PR application?

if the PA submitted inland sponsorship + OWP and the OWP has not been approved......the PA and any dependent child living inside Canada as visitors are better applying for visitor visa extension until the OWP is approved......if the OWP is approved the PA and any dependent child in the application living inside Canada will have implied status.
