Hello,

I am planning to create an express entry profile under FSW program and while calculating how many points I can gather, I found that if I apply without my wife I will get more points because she did not do very well in the language test. (around 15 points extra).

my question is this, is it legal to submit a profile without my wife even though she plans to join me after I get the PR? and the second question is, is it easy to apply for a family class sponsorship after getting my PR?

appreciate any insight on the subject.

You cannot apply as single. You have to apply as married but list her as non-accompanying.

You can apply to sponsor her later. However it's possible you may be separated for quite a few months or a year while you wait for the paperwork to be processed.

It's better to include her as accompanying if you can so that she can get PR as the same time as you.

thank you scylla, that is what I actually meant to do, apply for a family but wife not accompanying me :)
let's assume that i decide to go ahead with this option, i can apply for a visit visa for her while waiting for the sponsorship right ?

Yes - your wife can apply for a visitor visa. Chances are quite high it will be refused and you'll need to live apart while her PR application is processed.
