Applied Visa 30 days ago till now no information - Return trip nearing

Hello All:

My parents are visiting me in the USA, I had applied for Canadian Visa for them thinking that we can visit Niagara Falls, to the Detroit consulate on June 15, 2012. I had sent in the original passports for stamping. Till now I have heard no infromation. Their Return Trip is on Aug 5th. I am kind of getting excited as there is no Information. I wrote to their email address and the reply I get is a standard one. No proper leads.

Any idea how I can proceed.
Please help.

Finally i got my Parents TRV visa approved and got my package back on 7/23/2012.

Application package delivered to Detroit on: 6/15/2012
Application package returned with approval: 7/23/2012

There was absolutely no communication (Inspite of my emails almost daily inquiring status) during the whole period.

Congrats!
Which country are your parents from? I am asking because some countries are subject to additional mandatory wait period and wanted to know if your parents were subject to the same.
I am from Pakistan and visa applicants from Pakistan have to wait additional 10 days for mandatory wait period on top of the normal processing time of 30 days.
