Hi there,
I am the August 2013 applicant for spouse visa, can anyone tell me how long will it take to get the decision made? I have already submitted my passport on Sept 16th.....application status is given 1) application received and 2) medical report received....and my other Question is that, how will the CIC send back the passport to me? is it by courier ( BlueDart ) or simple register mail?? oh yes do they write down the phone no. on the envelope when sending back the passport? cos it will be easier for the delivery guy to find the place....

Thanks Allen.

Which country u applied from? was it inland application or outland?

I applied for canada and i am from india....

We really need more information than this. We know that you applied from India, but what we don't know is if you applied in land or outland. It would also be helpful if we knew if you've received AOR or any information since sending you application.

wats AOR by the way?

When they let you know that they received your application.

Well my wife submitted the application on 4th Aug 2013 from canada and then she received the email on 30th Aug. says that file has been forwarded to the visa office mentioned by the applicant that is new delhi.
On 14th Sept. received email asking me to submit my passport with the necessary docs. well passport sent out on 16th sept.
Now the status shows application received on Aug 2013 and medical report received.

Well application received from them on 6th Aug.

So Outland, via New Delhi. CIC is showing 11 months for New Delhi, so anywhere from 2-11 months would be the answer.

One more question that is how will the CIC send back the passport to me? is it by courier ( BlueDart ) or simple register mail?? oh yes do they write down the phone no. on the envelope when sending back the passport? cos it will be easier for the delivery guy to find the place....

If I am not wrong, they will send a mail to you and they will ask you come directly to pick it up. Regular procedure in Sri Lanka but I am not quite sure this is how it works in India as well.

I would suggest asking your question in the New Delhi thread, because they would have more information and/or experience with that.
