Applied for PR in ON, but thinking of moving to QC - what now?

Hi,

I am an ON resident and have been approved to sponsor my US husband. His application has been 'in process' since February 2014. At the time we assumed we would continue to live in Ottawa ON and submitted the general non-QC paperwork, but we are likely to move to Chelsea QC later this summer as I am buying a house there.

I am looking for advice on whether we need to alter our application and apply through the QC process, if I
a) move before he has PR, or
b) we move together after he gets status.

Based on current application processing stats, he may have PR status in August. We are loathe to have to reset the clock on his application, if there's any way to avoid that.

Thank you for your help!

Hiya just checking again to see if anyone has any experience/ advice on moving to QC while a PR application is in process (we didn't apply to QC as we weren't expecting to move).

Thank you :)

If it is possible to avert or delay your moving, it may be better as this is going to further delay the processing of your application.

As mentioned, is it possible to delay moving to Quebec until after you land? The reason I ask this is that you may be required to get a CSQ approval first before landing. This will cost you extra money and delay in getting PR landing.

Hi...

Like the others who have replied, I'd wait until he's landed before you move to QC.

You do require a CSQ to you land in QC...

Can you buy the house in QC and keep your ON address until he lands because that would be ideal.
