You moving to India will in no way delay the process.
What is your address for communication purposes?...You have to make sure all the letters etc reach u or atleast u are aware of the communication from CanadaVisa offices.........If you are not sure when u will return to US then try to get your Visa Office changed to New Delhi....which might take 2/3months but i heard ND is faster..

Yes i can give my relative's address for coummunication , i may not come back to US unless my company send me again on some project.
Do i need to notify the visa office for change in status of my visa as i will no longer be in US?
New delhi being faster , i heard that too but don't have faith , doesn't seem possible things get quicker at delhi ,i don't know. Thanks.

Hey,

I'm on the same boat like you. I'm also moving back to India this year. I submitted my full application to Buffalo on September'09 n waiting for their response. I'm not changing the visa office coz I also don't have any faith on New Delhi.
I'm giving Buffalo my Indian Address so that they can courier me to dat address coz I don't want to disturb any of my friends or releatives who r in USA and also scared of losing mails.
What r u doin ? r u changing ur visa office ?

Re: Applied at Buffalo off, going back to India -Seniors,Rupeshhari plz advise

No , i also think the same , don't have much faith in New delhi though people in this forum are saying otherwise , that new delhi is faster... Anyways , i am not changing my visa office . If i tell them that i am moving to India , they may delay the process or insist on transferring the case to New delhi..i am not sure ..so i am thinking of only giving the address of one of my relativesin US. That's why i asked this question here , what's the best way ? Seniors please advise.

There may also be a problem if i give my india address , then when they ask for passport i would need to find some way to send it to US as it's not legal to send it by mail and even if you send the pasport by other means , the Visa office will not send it back to india address, so it's safe to give the address of some one in US.

The issue is nothing but sending ur passport to Buffalo Visa office in case you are in India at that point of time. Anyway you have to travel to USA with your passport for stamping. Your North American address will not help u on this regard. Also there is no conflict between ur contact being Indian address right now and Buffalo sending ur passport to a north american address at a later point of time.

Yes , that's true in case you have to be personally present for passport stamping when the Visa office asks for the passport. Are you sure you have to be there at that time for stamping or you can just send the passport?

You can send the passport to Buffalo. You need not be physically present to the Visa Office. But in my case there is no way to send it to Buffalo as I am going back to India and it is not legal to send passports in mail from India. Only alternative for me is to travel to Buffalo with my Passport.
