Got passport request today. :D. My husband did not get a call, we only got the email.
We emailed the embassy last week, and we got a response that I was not really expecting. I am so glad
The email reads as follow:

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXX
We wish to advise that we are ready to issue your immigrant visa. It will therefore be necessary for you to send us your original passport as soon as possible.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL!

Please note the following:

It is your decision how you submit your passport/s to our office or how you collect them.

We do not confirm receipt of passports.

Please allow 5 - 10 working days for us to issue your immigrant visa/s.

You will be contacted once the passports are ready for collection.

For our office hours, mailing and residential addresses please refer to the following link: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/southafrica-afriquedusud/offices-bureaux/contact-contactez.aspx?lang=eng

1. I read here that some people said when sending the passport, you must include the b number in the communication. However, this email did not mention anything abt a B number. We know the B number from prior commmunication, so I guess we should just include that one.
2. Please share ur experience of sending ur passport to the office. What are other things that I need to do?
Thanks for ur help

Congrats Sweetmine, you really deserved it. Pretoria seems to have woken up!!

Thanks Indianocean!!! I am so glad :). I miss my hubby so much and lately the distance was getting really really hard. Now I can't wait for him to be here. :)
It seems as if Pretoria is now working...I hope everyone in this thread gets a good news soon...

i have always been able to check the status online...i probably will have to send them an email or something..

maybe try first as yourself - you have your own client ID #.... and then try as your spouse with that client ID# ??

Or try using the file # if you have it already? Starts with an F

hope it works! =)

have you signed in using your spouses ID? I did that once and auto fill in (windows explorer feature) started rewriting the client ID when I typed in surname. The best I can say is to click on the empty box where it says surname and highlight the name that comes up and press the delete button and try to login again. Let me know if this helps you. I know I was stuck for a couple days before I realized that this was what was happening. Good luck

Hi help2012,
I think the fellow members gave good suggestions. Sorry for the late replay and i assume that you have already contacted immigration by now. I hope it is sorted out. Besides, any news yet?

My husband got his passport back with his immigrant visa. The embassy also returned pictures, cards and some documents. They gave my husband his B number when they called him to advise that passport was ready for pickup. We are making travel plan for the end of this month. I thank God for helping us throughout this process. I am grateful also you guys in this thread for your help and support as well as members from other threads. :D

Congratulations, that's awesome!

Thanks. I am so excited.

Good news this morning! Got PPR finally!! Wooooo hoooooo! =) so happy!

Congrats to you and your husband!!!
