Applications processed in Pretoria

Got passport request today. . My husband did not get a call, we only got the email.
We emailed the embassy last week, and we got a response that I was not really expecting. I am so glad
The email reads as follow:

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXX
We wish to advise that we are ready to issue your immigrant visa. It will therefore be necessary for you to send us your original passport as soon as possible.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL!

Please note the following:

It is your decision how you submit your passport/s to our office or how you collect them.

We do not confirm receipt of passports.

Please allow 5 - 10 working days for us to issue your immigrant visa/s.

You will be contacted once the passports are ready for collection.

1. I read here that some people said when sending the passport, you must include the b number in the communication. However, this email did not mention anything abt a B number. We know the B number from prior commmunication, so I guess we should just include that one.
2. Please share ur experience of sending ur passport to the office. What are other things that I need to do?

Wooohoooooooooo I am so happy for you! You don't have to put any B number if they didn't ask you too. Just give them the one with F. I got exactly the same as you did.

Send the passport in and keep us posted

We got the b number afterwards when they emailed us to pick up the finished visas.
The f number should be fine...thats what we used to send the passports initially.

Thanks Joseph. We will only include the F number. My husband should sent his passport tomorrow. He will most likely do that by DHL.
Does he also have to include a letter stating that he allows to DHL to pick up his passport for him?
Did you print the email that the embassy sent you and send it with your passport?

Yes, We've been waiting a long time, and lately it was a lot more stressful. I am so happy that we got the good news, and I can't wait for him to get his visa in hands and be here with me.

one thing to watch for when sending a courier to pickup the passport/visa is that pretoria may also want you to pickup the supporting marriage evidence like cards etc. They called my wife we had to pick that up too. Our box of evidence was 10kg and cost us R1400 extra. We used PostNet which is a DHL provider.

thanks chris for your reply...oh, i am the applicant in live in SA my husband is in CANADA and is the sponsor, i just wanted to do this as he is quite busy right now with his traning...oh one more think i am unable to see my status on line now?? has anyone ever experienced this before??

Thanks Ilovewaiting! that is good to you. We sent in some cards and letters that have a great value to us and we would want to lose them. my husband mailed his passport today. Now, I am getting impatient for him to get it back.
