Hi IndianOcean

I am studying at the moment and I won't graduate until the end of 2013 do you think that could affect the decision of my visa? I am thinking they might not take my application seriously since they know I am still a student.

What do you think?
Don't worry about it. It's fine. My wife is still a student, (has a part time job) and she still got approved to sponsor me. I am still a student, and I was approved while I was still in University here in Mozambique. Didn't finish my Uni here either .
And I have read many cases here on the forum, of students getting accepted so don't worry about it.

Well preparations are coming smooth, gotta buy my ticket this week so I can land next week!

Thanks for the explanation, without you this forum will be too boring. Good luck, I hope you don't have a lot to sell? As for us we have to sell a lot of things when I get my visa.

Not really, don't have much to sell. Just sold some electronics last week, but that's about it. Just organizing some basic documents (birth certificate,a new police clearance to apply for a job there) and translate them.. Will you wait until the end of 2013 when you graduate to move to Canada?

We can wait for that long as we are both tired of here already. I study with University of South Africa which is a long distance correspondence. We are both foreigners here so getting a job is the hardest task in this country, no connections no job. We can't wait to have our visas. We have both spent five years here in SA, it's time to move on.

If I have my visa today, it will take us just over a month to move. You are definitely a nice guy, I would love to meet you sometimes in Canada.

I know what you mean about getting a job without connection, same thing here in Mozambique. I've already got a job offer in Canada, but it will be just for now, with time I will look for something better.
It's always nice meeting new people! Who knows when you land in Canada, we can do a reunion of Pretoria Applicants :)

Indianocean please help!

I just realized on my APPENDIX A SCHEDULE A BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form question 6d where it says have you been refused a visa to Canada before, I answer NO by mistake because I was refused a visitors visa once before. Is there any way I can correct this? I am afraid if I don't correct it they might refuse me the visa thinking I was not honest.

Sorry Josephs, just reading this now! Saw that you have been already answered this on the main post. Yes write them a letter explaining, and print again that same page and take it to the embassy. Don't stress out, it's just a tiny mistake.

I used to have someone like a common law partner in the country where I'm living now, but we never stayed together or have any serious relationship. When the form as me if I have ever had a common law partner I write NO. Can this lead to refusal of my visa?

Indianocean I need an advice.

A common law partner is a person you live with in the same home as lovers so if you never stayed together and did not have a serious relationship, why do you consider this person to have been your common law partner?

I had a visa for here as her common law partner, but I later cancel it for a Study visa. That's the tricky part of the situation.
