Hey you guys,
I just finished my landing and back to the States. Here is my experience for official thing (and later on with some "chicks" - keep on reading, it won't be long)

I drove my own car to Buffalo and crossing Peace Bridge to the other side without any serious delay (it took me about 30-40 min just to cross the bridge which is not bad at all). I didn't have to talk to any US custom getting out of the states (which was weird - I don't know about other US-Canada borders) drove directly to 15-lane-welcoming-porch and were directed to the "building" for further landing process. I was well-prepared, however it would never be enough, I was a little scare of "everything"...
The lady officer was nice to me seeing my pale face after waiting 30 minutes in the long line (I don't know what the heck is happening there, there are 2 families, 4-5 members each came before me for "landing too" and it took them forever to finish). After all, I was able to show off my bank statement, Car title, goods to follow lists and other paperworks. She didn't really care, check my passport, asked several questions like "What's your full name, BOD etc." and told me to give her the number of funds (she didn't take a look at the bank statement). Finally, she stamped the CORP, and asked me whether I know how to maintain the PR status (You know I can tackle well, right) and congrats me being a PR in Canada. And that was not all...
I will be back to the forum tomorrow for the later part o my story ;). Keep in touch

Hey Pro1, do you know if I can order CAIPS for my friend? If so how and what all do I need? He is in the US, applied under FSW 1 NOC 0213 in April 2009, got transferred to NY VO in May 2010, received medical request in October 2010, sent medicals in October itself, from which time his status is "Medical results received". He has still not received PPR and is getting canned replies from NYVO.

Hi garian4u,

Yes you could order the CAIPS notes for your friend. To get it faster, tick the option that charges for $5 in the following application form:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563B.pdf

If you want more information in that regard, conntact the following email adress:

Sebastien.Fleurant @ cic.gc.ca

Well, they say upto 90 days after receiving medicals. For me it was approx 50 days.

Hey room,

I don't quite understand why it is taking forever...it has been 14 month since I submitted my documents to BVO. It says the processing time is 19 months. Does it mean I will get everything in 5 months? Given the progress so far don't think so. And they don't answer emails. This is just ridiculous... >:(

Hi All,

I am happy to share you that i have received stamped passports from Bufallo office today. I am very thankful to all of the members in this forum. I have not regularly checked this forum but i found lot of information whenever is required.
Planning to move Canada by November 2011.

Thanks,
Sharath

Hi Anum,

I noticed that we have almost the same timelines. So do you have any guess when would we be recieving MR ? i went to my lawyer today and he told me there is a big backlog and CIC might be thinking to entertain further applications .If you contacted with Buffalo office, did they give you any positive information ? what about ur CAIPS ? Why didnt you think of applying to CEC class.
Sorry for the lot of questions but you know this is the only way to share our anxiety vy getting hopes from each other.

i dont know when to expect my MR. Considering everything is taking so long, i did what druid did and did my medical in advance. Considering i'm here in canada already cant lose much by doing it in advance.
my lawyer doesnt have much info for me when i ask questions, which is why om taking matters in my own hands.

i ordered my caips notes, and nothing much had changed and at the last bfd ( april 2011) they verified my job. i dont know if my background checks are on already or if my application just sitting in queue for review.
My next BFD is September 2011. if nothing happens after that date, i will apply under CEC then.

i havent contacted buffalo , coz they dont give much info ... i rely only on caips notes..

We have the same time and i am also working in Canada.

My lawyer told me yesterday that we should take something from Buffalo this month untih 10.August.

p.s.Before you apply to CEC chek your IELTS score for your NOC.They refused my CEC application beacose my score was not enough for my NOC.After that i applied again under FSW category.Dont make the same mistake like me my friend.

august doubtful.. because my bfd is septermber.. just rechecked my caips notes.. nothing was done to file since i got my file number in oct 2010...
so i dunno what to expect in september..

my ielts scores are fine. they qualify for CEC

from where u will know how much ielts score is required for your NOC.
Any link ?

And Anum did you send bank draft or simple check for CAIPS notes ? I fyou could share which columns are to mark and which to leave untouched. My spouse and 4 years old son are on the application as well,if i need to fill any form from my spouse. We all are in Canada and any documents need to send with CAIPS application.I can order CAIPS and then we can share information like BFD or whatever to hv an idea about MR and considering CEC.

send cheque, theres plenty of posts on the forum on caips notes.. look them up .. and u'll find all the info u need about filling the form etc etc

Hi Purkoni,

3 of my friends got 2AOR in Aug 2010, now the receive MR. They are in FSW-3. I hope that I will get MR soon, since I got the 2AOR in Aug. I have no idea but my address in ECAS is disappeared recently. They might possibly work on my file ;)

I think your lawyer might be right and you will get MR in Aug or Sep.
I myself think that after finishing the background check, the officer will evaluate your file based on verified information and give you the point. they will then send you MR.

Hopefully your B/G check has been done up to now, you are in queue for review by officer.
