How much time does LA office takes after the medicals are done

We recieved our PPR from LA in about 2 weeks from the date Ottawa recieved our medical results. BUT LA office takes too long for visa stamping and sending the passports back (over a month for us)

Sorry guys for little ignorance..
so how it works is once ur dmp sends ur results to ottawa ,the next step is the ppr from ur visa office...
i thot they forward ur result from ottawa to ur visa office and once they get it then they issue u ppr ...
so i guess reaching ottawa would be almost done in ur process....right ???

Hey Mark, any update on your status? Have they received your medicals, fingerprints and other documents? Did you get a PPR yet?

I am still waiting for the fingerprint report. It takes ages to get that nowadays. Anywhere from 10-12 weeks minimum.

I saw a few people's cases transferred from Buffalo to New York. My case was transferred to NY on July 20. Based on your seniors' experience and your crystal balls, when I should expect the med request?

In the recent past, NY office has shown amazing speed compared to Buffalo, Detroit, LA, and Seattle (slowest of them all). So, if your file gets transferred to NY VO, you may be in luck. Reason why NY VO is fast compared to other offices is because bulk of Eastern Coast applications are handled by Buffalo. Seattle is slowest because a lot of workload gets possibly transferred from LA office to Seattle and also far more applicants apply from west coast than east coast.

Hey, I thought you told that there is a faster way available of doing the electronic fingerprints rather than the paper-based ones. Did you try doing that?

I wished there was more transparency in the processing times as to what really was happening. Seeing one status over months, makes one sick.

Buffalo received my full documents May24 and no update neither 2nd AOR from them. There are some applicants that sent their application first week of May yet no reply either. So I guess all we need to do is wait...wait...and wait....

gmr, Can you share some more details about your case? Which visa office is processing your case? When were your medical results received by your visa office, etc.?
