1. "Received by the visa office" = 3-10 month

2. "Visa office eligibility review complete" = immediately (in case of refusal for not being eligible under any one of the 3 categories according to the visa office eligibility review) - in this case the applicant will be eligible for the 550$ refund, and that is why they use this sentence to distinguish between refused applications that are eligible to the refund of 550$ and the other refusal after it shows "In Process", which does not give refund for the refused applicant at this stage.

3."In Process" = No refund if there is a refusal when the e-case shows this word. the time taken in this case varies individually depending on each case. under this link, they update the medicals receipt by adding the sentence "medical results have been received" which means 99% that the application is approved, if not, they never add it even if the results are ok and they received them.

4. "Decision made" = in case of refusal or approval after the e-case status reads "In Process", if it was before the PR it means refusal, after the passport request and submission, means approval (except in New Delhi office because they ask for the passport, medicals, and RPRF all together even before they know whether the medical results are ok or not, but in Buffalo they never ask for the passport unless, they are going to grant the visa).
So, it goes 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4?
If (2) is immidiate, does it mean that you would probably not see it in case of positive review?

Hi Rahman,

I am having the same issue...have tried to open ecas several times..just can't get to the web page.
I think it's some technical issue over their servers or they are doing some upgrades on the website.
Sometimes site is overloaded. Just keep trying and eventually it will work

Yes, and it goes like this; 1, 3, 4 (but without satge 2 because it means refusal), if the application is eligible, the applicants will never see this sentence "Visa office eligibility review complete", instead, their cases will change to "In Process" Immediately. If it is not eligible, the applicants are going to see this sentence which means refusal with a refund.

Can anyone let me know..how much time it will take to Buffalo..to send me a response.

It's been total of 2.5 months since my file has been sent to Buffalo NY from CIO and 1.5 months my File with all documents is with Buffalo NY.

I sent them an email, asking about status they say it take time according to they have received..

If your e-case shows "Received by the visa office", it means there is no need to worry, everything is going fine in your case even if you have not got your AOR yet.

To hear anything from Buffalo after they received your application and updated your e-case to "Received by the visa office", such as; file transfer, request for more documents, change the e-case to "In Process", count 3 to 4 months from the date of receipt of your physical application at their visa office.

Regarding the address change, how did you change the address, which procedure have you followed to do so?

Hi guys,

I have just found out some information about the way Ottawa uses to send the Medical results to the visa office, there are three ways as the following:

1- either directly by entering the information on the CAIPS, so the visa office in this case will not need to do this step (which means time saving).

2- Or sending them by Fax, in this case, the visa office will have to enter them on the CAIPS (this will take longer to be updated in our files).

3- Or sending them by email, same way as number "2".

The source:

At the end of page number "8"

Hi vermas,

Actually there are some exceptions regarding the AOR from Buffalo for unknown reasons. To be honest with you, it is not related to the time of year when you have sent your application.

I remember when i sent my full application to Buffalo on Sep 2009, i got my AOR within 28 days exactly by email, meanwhile, some members here in this forum who sent their applications around the same time, even before i did by 1 and 2 weeks did not get their AORs in the normal timeframe for unknown reasons, which is supposed to be one month or less.

Some others did not get it at all, but they have been able to see the change on their e-case from "CIO eligibility review complete" to "Received by the visa office" using the CIO file number.

The most important thing here if someone has not got his AOR in the normal time frame at least is to see the change on the e-case to read "Received by the visa office", because in this case, it means that they accepted his file regarding the (completeness), and created a file for him on their system even if they have not sent him the AOR with the new file number "in purpose or by mistake".

In respect to the 5 months which they state it might take them to send the AOR, it does not really take that much.

The things that might not be a good indicator in this case are:

Not seeing the change on the e-case status after sending the full application to the visa office (if there is no AOR sent by them for long time, let us say 3 or 4 months), the reason is because this case might mean that the application is in its way back to the applicant to be re sent after fixing some mistakes on it.

In your situation, you can send them an email enquiry, but i am sure that they are going to send you the same copy and paste message wich says:

"Please allow 5 months from the date of receipt of your application to this visa office to receive our AOR or get your application back".

If you would like to send them the email, go for it, but i am sure that their answer will not be satisfactory for you at this time.
Hello professional 1,
I have always valued your posts and comments. However, I sincerely hope that the last four paragraphs of your post become untrue (I am being selfish).

I am stuck up now. My DMP office has given me the tracking number for my medicals. I checked the USPS website and it shows the status as of May 30 as International Dispatch. No updates after that. It is 4 days after that and I assume my results should have reached Ottawa by now.

I tried calling the Ottawa office and I got the same response - This is not a public inquiry number. But the lady was kind enough to answer my questions. She was not frustrated or irritated. She said once Ottawa receives the results, they may take upto 2 weeks to inform the visa office. So she has asked me to wait for 2-3 weeks and then contact my visa office and know the status.

Regards,
I have just noticed from one of your past posts that Buffalo visa office has contacted your consultant asking whether you are still in Canada and still working or not. It means that they most likely accepted the file and are reviewing its information, otherwise they wouldn't have contacted you by phone because it is a kind of verification.

Good luck.

That is normal Pasi, because the mail is between two countries, sometimes it does not show the actual progress on the delivery status, i think your results were safely delivered .

Hi guys,

The following thread is not related directly to Buffalo applicants, but it really affected my feelings, the way the member has described his difficult situation.

The problem is that the applicants pay the price for some irresponsible immigration officers who make serious mistakes, issuing the medical forms for the applicant, wasting his money and time for the medicals, giving him a false hope, playing with people's feelings, and finally dropping them from the sky to the hell !

God helps him.

Hi
I applied from Canada.
Eligibility: One year in Canada as an International Student

My Timeline:
Doc sent to CIO: Sep 2, 2009
AOR from CIO:Nov 2, 2009
Sent full doc to Buffalo on 25 Nov 2009.
AOR from Buffalo: 30 Dec 2009.
Status changed from 'Received' to 'In Process' on May 24, 2010.
It says 'Your application was reviewed and we started processing on May 21'
My file has not been transferred to another VISA office. So processing at Buffalo.

Is there anyone whose file was processed at Buffalo?
Want to know how long does it take from STATUS change( received to in process) in ECAS to MEDICAL request?
