professional 1 said:No man, it is too early to get it.I have not got any cards yet (SIN card, OHIP card, PR card), i just have conformation letters of all of them, and the cards will be in their way to my mail box "god willing"in th near future.
They told me at the borders when i was doing my landing that it will take from 4 to 6 weeks to get it mailed to my mail box.
Even i checked CIC website in that regard, and it says that new arrivals will wait for 51 days (once Canadian mailing address is provided).
check the following link: (CPC PRC Sydney) "Processing Time for Permanent Resident Card for new arrivals"

Hi Avaya,AvayaLenovo said:Hi sazid,
Yes, they received the check after I was done with my medicals. The sequence of events is below:
Medicals done - September 7
RPRF check received by Buffalo - September 10
Medicals received by Ottawa - September 14
RPRF check cashed by Buffalo - September 17
Do you think their encashment of check means something? I'm hoping & praying to receive my PPR soon as I really want to visit my home country for christmas as I haven't seen my family for 2 years now. I need my passport this December/January. I'm willing to fly to Buffalo once I receive my PPR (I currently live in Chicago) just to expedite the process... I hope the encashment somehow signifies a movement in the process.....
sazid and AvayaLenovo, not to put too much negativity of thoughts, I would still like to caution you against any expectations that could cause anxiety or heartbreak. I don't think encashment of RPRF is linked with PPR. I have known of several cases who sent their RPRF even when their medical request hadn't come. The RPRF was promptly cashed. You can send RPRF fees whenever you like. If the case is not approved, it will be refunded. But, if you send it, it will be encashed promptly. If you want, you can see my timelines as well. I completed medicals on Jul 19 and sent RPRF alongwith medical receipts. Buffalo received them on 21st Jul. The RPRF was encashed on 26th Jul. In the background, the medical process went through it's own sweet time. 2nd Aug, DMP sent results to Ottawa. Ottawa received results on 3rd Aug. Then Ottawa medical board took it's time to send the analysis over to Buffalo. On Sep 14, while responding to my e-mail query, Buffalo responded that they have received results from Ottawa (don't know when they actually received it). I have still not got PPR. If you want to relate this to RPRF, then it was encashed on 26th July.... You can trust me, mine is not an isolated case.sazid said:Hi Avaya,
Thanks for the information, I expect that once the RPRF is encashed you will be getting your PPR within 1 month, hope you get your things done on time and visit your family. Please let me know once you get ur PPR. I am also in same situation wanted to visit my family, planning to get visa stamped in person.

Even i have applied in sydney on 7th Feb, 1st AOR- 30 Mar. Docs sent on july 9th. But nothing has happened....candiur said:Buffalo's - I was active in other forums but realized that there is one much more relevant to mine.
Experts in this forum, can you advise my timelines in the signature and suggest if it looks ok. It is almost 4+ months that I have not received my 2nd AOR. In such case, has anyone tried their luck in calling the Buffalo consulate and got your feedback? I have been checking e-mail and snails but no sign.

as professional1 said, we send passports to Buffalo, its not illegal. i dont quite remember the address, but i think its more or less same as the one we use for Buffalo.candiur said:From what I know mailing passports out of the country is illegal. That is the only rule applicable globally.
But your situation sounds strange where you were asked to send passport to Buffalo while you were in Canada. This sounds really a bit twisted. Just to be curious what mailing method did you use .. like USPS or professional couriers?
Did the consulate ask for the RCMP fingerprints before or after the medical request?professional 1 said:By the way,
They have never asked me to send any additional documents for anything (except the RCMP fingerprint). even one of the police clearance was over one year already by the time they sent the PPR.
I even asked them whether they want my tax refund documents in canada (T20) or any other documents, they said no further action is required by me.
Wish you all the best of luck.
