How many days did it take you to get PCC in hand?

Hello Indira,

I have taken the PCC from my local police staion( PS ), first visit your area PS Writer and ask him about the procedure. In my case the procedure they told was: I need to take Rs 500 challan ( for each adult applicants ) in any E seva towards PCC and we need to attach these original receipts with address proof, passport bio data page xerox, marriage certificate copy, the letter from ND VO asking for PCC.

Then a police constable may come to your home and will do some verification with your neighbors for name sake and they will ask you to come down on the next day to collect your PCC ( But after paying some bribe They have asked for Rs 500 bugs for each PCC ) Thats it. This process may varies as you cits in Chennai but bribe wont change

I just want to share these ever since I applied for immigration..

After 112 days that CIO received my application - PER

36 days after PER - 2nd AOR

2 days after 2nd AOR - Medical Request

28 days after Results were submitted - Passport Request

22 days after CEM received our passports -
VISA !!!!!!!


A total of 33 weeks and 5 days


I received our visas today in a long brown envelope with serialized tapes indicating my file number..

The envelope contains the following:

- Me and my husband's passport of course with the visa..I'm hugging and kissing it..hehe
- COPR
- Letter from CEM, 5 pages, included is PDOS info.
- All my documents that were submitted (all of my docs. except the aplication forms)
- Receipt of payments

DHL called me this morning and I went to their office to pick it up, here in my home town ofcourse, I paid them the corresponding fee

I am glad that you are done in 33 weeks time 8) It was fast this time to immigrate to canada, isnt it ? It's realy intresting too that they are sending all documents back. No more paper work to be done on the applicant and you are considered now part of the country

What I meant was from the day you applied to the local SHO ----->to the file going places ------> the Constable coming to your house for verification------>
and then you going to collect it.

HOW many days does the whole process take?

Today my ecase status having extra line that is " Medical results have been received".

Can any one with New Delhi VO too got this line added to the status, if so please let me know.

Please note we received the letter from London VO on the 27th of April but the letter was dated 6th April - so it took about three weeks to reach us. Also they only requested for medical and landing fee.

hi guys! I am new here in this forum and i have the same concern. I wasn't able to scan all the thread so I hope someone can help me with my questions. I applied for NOC 3152 and had an immigrant consultation for the processing of my papers. My lawyer is from Quebec and they sent my papers to Nova Scotia. It was submitted on Oct 26, 2010. However, until now I haven't received any notice yet even a file number from the CIO. I have custody issue and still with pending annullment decision. I am concerned on what's causing the delay. I wonder why even a file number haven't been issued.. I'm a bit worried if they really got my docs but i have the tracking number that it was sent to NC.

I feel troubled I cannot even trace the status of my documents. Any October applicants who were already granted with medical and just waiting for a few more time? Your response and reaction to this will be very much appreciated.

I see your post appears to have been overlooked amidst all the celebrations on the forum.

Just a few questions: Have you been communicating with your immigration consultant? Did they confirm if they have been in communication with the CIO in NS? If they haven't it would be worth the while for them to do so and request i) Your Immigration file/ref number; ii) Status of your application ASAP. As you have employed a consultant to act on your behalf, you can not personally contact CIO yourself. CIO can either be contacted on phone or online.

If your consultant haven't received any communications, there are two possible reasons based on the experience shared so far on this forum: i) The CIO might have sent you an email to confirm positive or negative eligibility review and the email might have failed to deliver or ended up in your consultant's junk folder ii)Your applications might still be pending detailed review (don't ask me what that is?lol) at the CIO. My application and that of a few other applicants on the forum happen to fall into this category. We are starting the week here in Cairo after the vacation of 1/5 & I hope there will be some news. Our friend Moori got his PPR exactly one month after he did his mediacls. I am taking you as a reference, since we did our medicals very close to each other (2/4 & 6/4).

But I wouldn't expect updates for me as I think they are waiting for me to inform them that my wife has given birth to our little girl.

Waiting ... & waiting ... & checking status on e-cas as usual

Today,I have started my countdown for the passports request. It should happen sometime in the coming two weeks, isA. I will definitely share the news once I receive them and I would love it if you do the same.

SHO will guide u to DCP office..there u have to file application...which will first come to SHO ..who will verify ur address..then file will go to Special Cell..they will verify ur record forfor criminal record,econimic offence,anti theft,anti terror records...special cell will also visit ur residence....This certificate is LPC(Local Police certificate)

Krishna, thanks for your elaborate explanation. So, for Prab's passport renewal, they asked for a verification certificate(aka recommendation for passport for the person) and the SHO gave it for him. That itself required all the address checks and verifications. Now, we think it would be easier for us to get it from the same person. That's plan A.

Plan B.
If not, we will go to the SP office(50 kms away) and then proceed with the normal stuff you mentioned. Let's see how it goes.
