Happy April Fools day everybody!!!

This has increased my breath rate. Its good though. I have not read the copy of my application since I sent it to CIO in October 2010. I will go through it this weekend.

Thanks anyway.

Shalom

I was reading the marl1981 post and even opened my file to go thro it with a big magnifier. ;D ;D
Hope CIO doesn't celebrate April fool day! ;) ;).
Friends be alert to select the forum message atleast for today.

So I emailed Buffalo inquiring about the possibility to send them the PCCs before receiving an AOR to avoid having to continuously obtain a new set of certificates:

"Hello,

I received a positive eligibility review notification from the Central Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia on February 16th 2011. The letter notified me that my application file will be forwarded to the Buffalo Visa Office for further processing. I am writing to confirm that my application has been received by your office and also to inquire about whether I can send you my police certificates now in order to avoid having to get another set for both myself and my husband in light of longer processing times. If I can forward you my police certificates now please let me know how I can send them (mailing method) and to who I should direct the package to.

Kind regards,"

Their response came after one business day (makes me wonder if they read my email at all):

"The creation of permanent resident applications in our database along with the mailing of the acknowledgement of receipt letter is taking a minimum of 30 weeks.
Any application submitted without the required documents and information will be returned to the applicant.

Regards,

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo
Immigration Section
buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca"

So I responded:

"Hello,

Thank you for your prompt response. My application is complete, and I received a positive eligibility review from the CIO in Sydney, NS.

The police certificates are to be requested at a later stage as per the instructions on the Visa Office Checklist. Therefore, I was asking if I can send the PCCs now while they are still valid instead of having to obtain new police certificates (and paying to obtain them again). In light of the 30 weeks wait time.

Would it be okay to send my police certificates now, instead of waiting for them to be requested?

Thank you for your feedback on this matter.

Warm regards,"

30 weeks is a very long time. I think its totally unfair to request for PCCs that are no older than three months considering how their processing time is rather unpredictable. I remember when I first submitted my application to CIO, CIC told me that the current processing time is 32 weeks. However, I got a PER only after four months. It is not just the cost of the PCCs I am worried about but the whole process of gathering certificates from different countries and how long it takes. I really hope they do something about the validity time for PCCs just like they did with IELTS results (now valid for two years instead of one)

OMG :o!!!!!!!! 30 weeks is very long!!!!

I got my positive LMO extension just today and I will apply for a new work permit on Monday. the new processing time for work permit is 180 days which means I can not leave Canada during these 180 days until I get my new visa.
If they do not accept this PC that I obtained recently when I traveled back home then what should I do?!?!?!?!?!

I hope this 30 weeks is the same as 33 weeks Sydney told us

I hope so too Mari1981. However, watching this forum for so long I know that Buffalo is notorious for their very long processing times. PCCs should be good at least for a year.

I heard that there are at least six people here that have photocopied their previous company's H.R managers face.
It's not easy to do, HR people wriggle a lot when you close the copier on their head :)

OK, you guys ARE NOT going to believe this!! :P :P :P

I went to my mail box and there it was! My maple leaf visa in an envelop! You can see me below:

They have written that my application is on the super duper fast track... The maple leaf has a self adhesive back, so just apply to passport...
