Here Wayen, my wife (PA) is applying under 3131 more than 3 years as Industrial Pharmacist + 0.5 year as Community Pharmacist but i hope they accept her expirence certificates as she couldn't get them with detailed duties & she couldn't get a certificate for 0.5 year as Community Pharmacist before applying
Hi Canady,
Yeah I am a little worried about the experience things.
My wife (PA) basically has 4 years industrial pharmacy experience - 1 year exactly doing postdoctural research and 3 further years as a formulation scientist for 3M. Her job duties changed about 1.5 years ago. Anyway we have a reference + contracts from both employers, but the reference from 3M was a little vague. We got confirmation of the time she's been there and job title and salary etc, and a paragraph outlining her main duties and former duties. 3M don't as a rule give references other than the very basics, that's their company policy, so we'd be struggling to get further written information if we are asked for it. Also we're hoping her manager will give a verbal reference if he is called during the verification checks in London.
Anyway, basically we think we check the first 4 out of the 8 lines of the 3131 NOC description for industrial pharmacists (the first line from her research job, and the other 3 lines from her current job), which is exactly half, and given that she has 4 years' experience we are hoping this is enough. But the descriptions don't exactly match those in the list so we're hoping whoever is doing the eligibility review has at least a basic scientific background to be able to match sensibly my wife's description and the references to the NOC description.
Regarding the community and industrial side of things - I think they will not count 6 months community since it is not 1 continuous year's employment, so they will be looking at the 3 years industrial pharmacist experience.
I don't know how much they'll want to satisfy themselves in this regard during the eligibility review at CIC, and how much they will leave to the visa office to look into. For sure CIC will make sure you have at least 67 points, but what else they do outside of that I don't know.
Likely to be several more weeks before we hear anything at all, although I am hoping that the post-June-26 applicants are going to get AORs faster than the 10 weeks from cash-date quoted to pre-June-26 applicants!
I think if we make it past CIC eligibility review to London then we have a very good chance of being granted the visa, so for us this is the most worrying phase!
Wayne.
