The full-time french course is organised by Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles. It's free for new immigrants who doesn't know french or who want to improve their french language skills. So i don't pay for the course. It's like full-time job - 5 days a week, 8 hours a day (about 30 course hours a week). So Quebec pays attendants like for work. It's not big money, a few hundred a month but it's always something. And in addition to that they cover cost of the daycare for kids.

Here is pretty much everything about the course:

Hello All,

Happy news for me!! Movement.. Movement.. Movement.. on my file.

I sent an email to NYVO asking the status of my application last week Tuesday and I received a reply saying that they are waiting for my medical results. When I replied that I haven't received any request to do so, NYVO replied saying that they would send it shortly. This was yesterday. I got an email today saying that the medical and RPRF package has been sent and I would receive it in 2 weeks time. Good to hear some news.

I don't know why.. I get updates only if I ask for it. It was the same case with buffalo VO and now, NYVO.

Any how, happy to hear the news.

I hope the rest of the process will be smooth enough.

Thanks for the blessings by mitali, canadestin, bhakthiujjwal and other seniors!!

Thanks,
satya.

Hello everybody!

I just want to let you all know, that we (me and my family), happily landed in Canada 25th Aprlil :) We landed in Toronto and the next day we came here - to Montreal. We have no CSQ, but we had no problems with anything. We rented an apartment, got our SINs, my daughter is already in the day care for 7CAD/day and my son starts school in september :) Our health care is covered by goverment of the province since 1st of july and a few days ago i passed my driving knowledge test - i have a road test 19th July and after that i'll obtain Quebec driving license. My husband works, i'm wating for full-time french course which should start at the end of August. I'll be learning french for six months at least. I wont be working while learning french, so Quebec will pay me during the course and they will also pay for my daughter's day care.

It's good to read good news from you! Good luck everybody :)

Hi Cay_sha,

Its nice to hear about another happy immigrant ;)

can u please tell us more about child care ;) Are you sure its 7CAD per day :o? may be per Hour?
What is it like? How old is your baby? Is he/she happy over there? How many kids are in a group/class? and what is the ratio minder-v-child?
What age are they starting to take kids from?

Hi,

Today i received the reply of my CSE dated 10.06.2012 as below:

"This is in response to your recent enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Under Canada's immigration legislation, all immigrant applications are subject to statutory requirements, including medical and background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. In this context, certain background investigations are being conducted in connection with your application. As these investigations are conducted by outside agencies, we have no purview over the processing time. We are therefore unable to give an exact time frame in which we expect to conclude the verifications on this case.

For now, there is no action required on your part. Please be assured that as soon as the checks are completed the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case.

We trust that this information will be of assistance. "

Any one got answer like this and if yes how much time its took to finalize background checks.

Please advise.

Regards,

Sonu

Hi :)

Yes, i'm sure that its 7CAD/day - i've already paid for all july, so i know that for sure :) Quebec is the only province in Canada, which has day care system with reduced rate - 7 CAD/day. Before i came here i'd read a lot about how hard is it (if not impossible) to find a place in 7CAD/day daycare, but i've found it in one week. 7 CAD/day day cares are usualy home day cares - like the one of my daughter's. Its about 1,5 km from my apartment, actually i often walk there instead of driving :) Its in a big house with garden full of toys. Its very important to go to the place with the child to see it and check if kid'll like it :) My daughter is very sensitive child, but she is really happy in this place. She loves the lady. They have two snacks and lunch during the day, and they are resting (or sleeping) after lunch. My daughter is 4 and she hasn't been slepping during the day since a few months, but now she started to sleep again :) There is 6 children, one educator and one assistant. They realising goverment's educational programme. Generally they take children between 2 and 5, but they're trying to take children in similar age to the group. This is bilingual day care. My daughter doesn't speak english nor french, but she doesn't care :) She's having really great time there and every day she relates to me what they did and where they were and what new words she learned today :)
