i applied under CEC in February 2012.i will suggest if you can apply under CEC so better do it. As it's only the extra fees and it's good to be safe as they keep changing the policies.

tks.

Toronto123,

have you heard anything on your CEC application yet? I believe you have to select a VO for processing..have you selected Buffalo as the VO or have you selected any other VO? do you know how long it is taking these days for CEC applicatons? I am asking as I plan to apply under CEC next month. Thanks for your help !

I applied in february. The application is to be sent at Novascotia/sydney instead of VO.They cahnged rules from 1st january.before that the files were sent to VO.However now to speed up the process it goes to sydney first. After that they are now transfering most of the files to CPC ottawa or to VO.
january applicants have recd. AOR for now, but none of them recd. medicals.

As for sydney they are working on files submitted in april.the draft/money order for files upto march have been cashed.

Well it's just that one of the moderators has left the filter on for column A :P (Seems someone was looking at mine and "Jacob"'s information or whatever)... If you download it to your comp and see you will be able to check out all :)

Congratulations and start packing your bags.

Toronto123,
Thanks for your reply. I am aware that the application is to be sent to NS...however, i was asking if you have to select a VO for processing or sydney, NS sends the application to the VO /ottawa as per their choice. also the processing time for CEC applications is shown as 15 months on the website..any idea if it is less or more than the indicated time? also in case of your FSW application - did you send a CSE to buffalo in response to which they wrote that your file has been transfered ?

Yes VO office is to be selected. I have selected Buffalo.after initial review most of the files are now going to CPC ottawa.
You can choose any VO depending on nationality or place of residence.
As for processing its difficult to say as they changed they procedure from 1st jan.there have been cases where people are getting PR in 8 -10 mnths.

yes , i sent CSE to buffalo yesterday after i called CIC

Thank you so much ! I appreciate your quick response. Do you know if I select ND as my VO instead of Buffalo - will the CEC process be any faster? will the file be sent to ND for processing or irrespective of the VO selected NS will send file to ottawa / VO in the US? Thanks again for your help.

Let me check :o. Everything shows on mine. It must have been that someone had a filter ;D

My post graduate work permit expires this coming October. What are my options if I want to apply under CEC instead of waiting on my FSW2 application?

mahek,

Just fill in the CEC application and send it to NS. IELTS results have to be enclosed. You can apply under CEC if you have 2 years of canadian experience. In your case if you have studied in Canada I think you can apply after 1 year of canadian experience. Good Luck !

Why dont you send a CSE to Buffalo for FSW?

But I thought that my work permit has to be valid when they make a decision. I sent several CSE to Buffalo and they keep giving me the same generic response : in process, keep communication to a minimum. Ecas still shows RBVO

Work permit should be vaild for FSW2 when decision is made. But for CEC, it does not matter whether permit is valid or not.so applying under CEC is more safe.

This is the best news I've heard in a while. Will write a new IELTS (took mine over 2 years ago) and apply immediately.
