I hear you, this application process has only affected my life in a negative way. I don't understand the need to keep applicants in complete darkness. Would it be too hard to automatically or manually email us at every stage when they look at our application, and let us know when they will look at it again?

Some applicants get their visa in 4 months others in 25 or more and no explanations are given. Makes it very difficult to organize your life and that of your family to make a life changing move to another country.

This month is my birthday also, and I just got my present through an email:

"Your application is in process in Buffalo. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

All I asked was if my application was still at Buffalo... have no idea what to make of this, I have not even heard anyone getting this answer, in 64 weeks yes, processed by June of 2012 yes, but we have no idea when the processing of your application will be complete???

I submitted my application 19 months ago... It's looking more and more like I should just move on... now I know how the pre 2008 folks felt.
