Very sad story :( :(. I think this is why my canadian friend always advised me not to move here. I work in security as well and i do 48 hrs a week, I earn $1100 cash in hand per week. Vicky is making peanuts there, so sad.

That is really true.. Its very sad. One thing that I have seen here is that, people who immigrate from other countries face issues initially. For ex: Doctors: They cant start working here unless they finish some courses/credits, exams etc etc which takes atleast 2 years time, If the exam is cleared in the first attempt. Point is, foreign education credits are not valid in Canada to get a job easily. There are exceptions as well to this statement. But, this is major case that I find here as an issue to get a job. IT is one of the exceptions from this case.If you have worked in IT, It is not that bad to find a job. Only hurdle would be the canadian experience which few employers are ok without that.

Hope this sheds some light to some people.

Thanks,
satya.

Friends,

It's a scary story by Vikky!!!

I would really advice anyone that plans to move to Canada to have all aspects completely sorted out. I received my PPR yesterday and here is what I am planning.

I work for a reputed IT company in USA for the past 4 years. My wife works too for IT. Once I get my PR visa, I plan to land (just me) in a couple of months to apply for SIN, Health card and Bank account. Then I am going to go back to USA and will continue to work there.

Unless I have a definite job, I wont plan to move to Canada myself. Then I will move, get settled, analyse all aspects, then take my wife and kid. Until then, my wife will continue to work in the USA.

I would never make a mistake of moving and searching for a job.

Regards,
Kummy

Hi Kummy,

Understood your concern.. Nice idea. But, Keep in mind that you will have to be in the country after applying for health card in order to receive the health card and keep it active. There is some rule as such. FYI..

Thanks,
satya.

Hello everyone,

Extremely delighted to inform that we received our stamped PPs today around noon... (Stamped on 2 April and valid till 9 Feb 2013)... Exactly 18 months and 6 days... And the wait is finally over!!! Tough to word my happiness most appropriately, but I am sure everyone can themselves imagine my joy :) :) :)

'Thank you very very very much' - is the least I can say to every super member and friend here... Needless to say this journey would have been even tougher if I didn't have you all... Thanks is simply an under-statement... I feel much much more for every one of you, for all the guidance, the clarifications, the support, the encouragement, the smiles - everything right when I needed the most :) :) :)

So hereon one journey ends, just for another to begin ;D

Congratulation Bhakti Its great news for you and wish you best life in Canada.

Best wishes for every single friend here... specially those that are desperately waiting for movements... I sincerely pray your wait just shortens!!

Love,

BhaktiUjjwal

My mother was an English immigrant many years ago, so I have been lucky to grow up and know Canada as my home forever. What I have read about immigration is that it is often the next generation who benefit most from the move. I don't know if that is any consolation to those pounding the pavement looking for jobs right now. Network with as many people as you can. Perhaps get a small supply of business cards printed. Hang in there. The best is yet to come. Good Luck!

Wow! BhaktiUjjwal Congratulations!!
I wish your good start of journey to dreamland.
Cheers.

I need to ask one question....Do you think removing a minor lump from the body will affect medicals for my application...

i still am waiting for me and my spouse medicals. however my spouse has a small lump in his leg, which is a simple lipoma...so he is getting it removed through a small procedure...

So please can anyone tell me if this can affect the medicals for the immigration...

Hi Smile,
I dont know if anyone has answered your question but a lipoma is a 'simple' lump like you already mentioned. In the absence of any complications (which is rare but which you never rule out), it shouldnt affect the results of medicals.
All the best
