I believe NDVO has made some changes to their system regarding the addition of Medicals have been recd statement.

Canadestin please confirm: Did you get this info on your Ecas? I have not seen any other applicant after him getting this message on Ecas.....I may be wrong.

Mitali

hey Mitali,

I got the "medical results have been received line" on 16th November 2011, a week after the meds were done and dispatched by the DMP. nd wanted to add that, I got so used to seeing the "In Process" line that I didnt see "the medical results has been received line" after it was initially updated. :)

Thanks & Regards,

Pinakini.

Hey Param,

What's up with your file? Any updates?! Plz share...

Pinakini.

Hey Buddy,

How r u?

Didn't get any numbers yet went today to see all the plans, found Public Mobile giving better deals in International calling...
Staying at Scarborough, Toronto (Morningside)

No no buddy you can create the Scotia bank A/C from India itself, to activate it further you have to visit the bank branch with your SIN ...
For SIN it just takes less then 15 minutes if rush is there max 30min.. they give your SIN there itself you don't have to wait for it, yeah your SIN card takes 2 weeks to come...

This is what I have mentioned:-

(Today I went to apply for the SIN number which was at Towncentre Scarborough & to activate my A/C with the Scotia Bank which was at Steeles Avenue, so two of the work completed ... »Got my SIN number & A/C debit card (credit card would reach my address in few days time)...)

That means I went for my SIN first to Towncentre where I got my SIN & then to Steels Avenue for the Scotia A/C....
No credit history is required

Even for PR the immigration officer told me that it will take 2 weeks... Let's see

Surely would be in touch... Jet is a good option

God Bless

Take care

Arun

Folks,

I have a recommendation in terms of Mobile phone.

See if you go with WIND Mobile or Mobilicity. They have good plans and good phones too. I am on Wind at the moment. I heard mobilicity also has good plans available.

And, if you plan to call international numbers, I would recommend to go for Vonage where there is Vonage world plan. Do your home work on this. Compare prices offered by Vonage vs Any cell phone connection provider who offers international calling.

Thanks,
satya.

For New comers,

I have a recommendation in terms of Air lines too. (This is only for people from India who are landing in Toronto. I have no info about other countries)

I would prefer Air India since its direct flight from Delhi. Reason I say that is..

1) You will land in toronto (check if there is a direct flight to another provinces. I am not sure.) around 6 am which will be comfortable in any way and will be easy to get over with jet lag.
2) You will get nice food to eat in the flight.
3) You wont feel home sickness alot since you will be surrounded by People who are from India. (Well, I felt it when I came out of India)

May be some more that cant think of at the moment.

By the way, Jet also has a direct flight from delhi to toronto. I think so. But, food will be horrible (thats the feedback I heard).

Thanks,
satya.

For international calling I also recommend callwithus if you talk less than 2 hrs/day w India then you probably save vs vonage.
