thanks but how to proceed, is it better to go over there and then look for universities or applying in advance from India before going. One more thing do they give some concession to PR holder in tuition fees?

Hi Jadeja,

What is your area of research? I could help, if you could give me some more details regarding your intended area of research.

It will be a sheer waste of time if you want to look for Universities when you come here. Instead engage your time to find Universities and make the initial contact with Professors while you are still in India. These things take time to process. You will know what the procedures are for Ph.D students.....the rules are the same for all Universities but its always better to double check with the HR dept before you take the plunge.

If you are diligent and persistent enough with your communications with Prof of your choice, then you might as well get an offer to pursue our Ph.D even before your PR gets approved. Or if you wish and is ok for your Prof. then you could have everything set up after you get the PR.

Different provinces in Canada have different specializations of research. Eastern side (Toronto) bases research in Cancer, Alberta in oil and industrial research (there are other research too, funding is restricted for Biological research though) and mid of Canada for agricultural research.

I will be more than happy to help you..if you need any.

BEST OF LUCK....

Mitali

Thanks a lot Mitali. My area of interest is toxicology, drug safety and designing. Howz PR visa going to help me in studies, will it provide some concession in tuition fees and right of education any where in Canada. For applying to universities is there any need to qualify IELTS academic OR GRE after PR. Which Universities have environment good for Indians and what is the average expense.
Hope u have an answer for these questions

THANKS

Congratulations to Simiarun and also to everyone who got a change in ecase status. It seems there's flood of great news this week, I hope it continues for everyone. Looks like the VOs are out of their 'summer vacation' moods, so we should have 2.5 solid months of activity before the Christmas slow down. All the best!

I suggest that you google up your areas of interest to find the universities in Canada. You will get the url's for the universities that provide your courses. It will help you to find the programs available, their timeframe, fees, and eligibility requirements of each university.

Hey guys,

I was checking CIC ECAS status regularly..... In last week my contact address was started appearing above the status..... from thursday I was on my official tour and returned back yesterday, due to which meanwhile i couldnt check the status.... when i returned , i checked the status and found that address was appearing but the status got changed to IN PROCESS...... I clicked on the status and found no change in the tracking record. Tracking record was still showing my application recv. date and PER date (not ashowing RBVO status)
How is it possible??? I was expecting RBVO status in this week and IN PROCESS status after 4 months (by analysing earlier/senior status).... Is it a system error, or is it like IN RPOCESS for sending an application to RBVO.....

yes,it is like inprocess for sending an application to RVBO.after few days it will be changed.my personel experience,so don't you worry.

take care and best of luck,
thanks,
safa

Well I go down to Gatwick today then permanently flying to Canada tomorrow.

Sorry if I haven't had chance to reply to everyone's PMs - give me a few days once I am there and I will go through them all and reply!

Wishing everyone the best of luck with their visas.
Wayne.
