My file number as of CIO's reply on 7th-Jan was B.
My application number as per PER dated 1st-Feb is E.

(Has any one received an E number exceeding 1000 - the CAP?)

Go figure.

The details also cannot be right. I believe he must have applied fairly early. With a B0573 number (ours is B0579) I don't see a February applicant being issued an earlier number in the series. Nobody gets a PER one day after encashment! :)

I am sure we just must have got a few of the dates wrong somewhere.

Wayne.
I agree with that my PER is B0577 and i was in sep. applicant

i think there is somthing wrong

Anyway regarding auditing the spreadsheet this isn't really something I can do at work any more so I will take a look over the weekend and move to the inactive tab anyone who has not posted in over 1 month.

Michael is FSW2 applicant so his number might be different. Although I don't see the reason why he would get his PER in four days after applying!?

INFO FOR THOSE WHO ARE DEBATING ABOUT FILE NOS.

International regions have updated their system. CAIPS is no longer used for the file retention but GCMS. Thats why, new files numbers are starting from E or F.
There is no legal issue in this.
Most of visa offices already shifted to GCMS.

The Global Case Management System (GCMS) is a multi-year program that will replace several aging, archaic and incompatible core business systems of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The GCMS is an essential secure technology platform upon which to build a modern, global, integrated, information-based solution that will strengthen program integrity, improve efficiency and enhance client service delivery.

GCMS will establish the next-generation business operational environment, and improve flexibility to adapt to future legislative and major program initiatives (e.g., biometrics). GCMS will also facilitate communications and data sharing with the CBSA and with our other partners for the purposes of administrating the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

Project Phase: Building on the success of the first deployment of the GCMS in 2004 (the Citizenship Release), the project undertook a re-evaluation of strategies for completion and prepared a revised go-forward plan which reduces risk and delivers considerable business value.
Lead Department: Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Participating Agency: Canada Border Services Agency
Contracting Authority: Public Works and Government Services Canada
Prime Contractor: None (The Department is responsible for system integration.)

Hi Nursemich,
I mean this with respect, but I seriously doubt visa office would put someone to the front of the queue because they have to take an exam. They could easily argue you could fly to Canada as a visitor and take the exam. There are people with TWPs expiring in June/July which could be argued is more urgent than your needs. I really don't think arguments of urgency will affect when a visa office processes an application. Everything I have read at the visa office's own websites states that applications will be processed in the order they arrive.
Manila office is clearly at the faster end of the pool so I'd expect other Manila applicants to be getting medical requests very soon. Admittedly I am just guessing :)
Wayne.
Yes Wayne,

They have just communicated that in their mail. They indicated that they have already sent out the RPRF, Medicals and the PCC request by mail and that they will not be able to finalize an application without receiving all of them. Also they indicated that they will not be able to give a date by when they will be able to issue the visas(this means this application is no special and will be given a place in the queue as usual).

I'm sure few other Manila applicants have their medical requests on the way already by snail mail(this can take days and weeks depending on the distance?). Just that she has got a response to her earlier email asking for a date when her application would likely be finalized, indicating the exams as a reason to ask for it.

Moral of the story - Guys please keep an eye on your post boxes for medicals :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Ah I had not realised this was in response to a query.

Does this mean that we most people might expect just to get med requests in the mail, with no email confirmation first?

Wayne.

I imagine it varies from country to country, but in the UK even second class standard post should only take a couple of days, unless something really goes wrong.

So we should be getting some paper medical requests for some applicants through the post very soon.

I also now suspect that the process various from visa office to visa office, and that some offices won't necessarily issue a 2nd AOR they will just send the medical requests.

I guess those with In Process as their ECAS status should be alert for their medical requests. I remember reading somewhere that for applicants before june 26th ECAS said In Process just before they got their medical requests.

Some people have been "IN PROCESS" for several years ;)

Ours says IN PROCESS, but the detail behind says nothing other than "We received your app on August 30th".
When it starts showing more accurate, granular detail then I'll start to have some faith that it's actually working.

Maybe this Sunday's big update will produce something useful!

Wayne.
