We got a PER yesterday on tihs list so I do not think they have completely closed for Christmas yet. However, as with most businesses, I imagine some people will be taking some of their own annual leave over the Christmas period in addition to the standard minimum bank holidays.

Therefore I suspect we will see a reduced number of PERs being issue over this week and next week, and then the frequency will rise again in the New Year.

That's my guess anyway,

Don't think CIO hasn't taken it's break yet, but it is possible they will take the 24th Dec - 3rd Jan off of work, so there might be a delay then. We'll have to see.

I agree that post was too far. I don't mind the stuff about thanking god or god helping or whatever, but saying you MUST believe in god is going too far. We should celebrate people getting PERs as our personal achievement, a shared success on how well we have done filling out the applications. How much you think God played a part in that is a personal belief and not one to be inflicted across the board.

That being said, Merry Christmas! Hows that for some contradiction

I don't think they will be closed completely through that period.
It is likely to be slow, granted, but they only have the same holidays as in the UK; that is Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Obviously this year the dates being at the weekend mean that in the UK they get the following working days off as extra Bank Holidays, but I am not sure that holds true in Canada. In B.C for instance, Boxing Day isn't even a statutory holiday. I don't know about NS, but they certainly don't close the offices and push off from now until the New Year.
It is so frustrating for us who are next on the list to be waiting after such a good rate of progress for those before us recently
I miss my husband so much and being apart is just so painful that every day is meaningful to us.
I am feeling the strain, I think.

I think we don't have anybody from Sept 3rd and 4th on our list. So we may not be able to see PERs today until they start with sept 7. Canady is the exception, he should get the PER soon. We definitely need to see more PERs this last week before the break.....come on CIC!!!

But we have another 2 full working days this week after today prior to Christmas Eve, and also 3 more full working days next week. I think they will be running with reduced staff but I think there is a good chance we'll see quite a few September PERs before the end of this year yet!

Agreed, this is North America, they work us till we drop... and immigration officers are no exception.
