Hi all

Do CIO cross check with the bank for Proof of Funds certificate provided during their eligibility review????

What do you all think?

I don't think so as it is not legal to ask about your Bank details as it consider classified details for you in the bank and i think if they want to check about your bank details they will ask you to send them another bank statement or may be 6 month statment

Nope, there is no way they can call the bank directly and check if you have the amount in your account . If they have a concern about the POF, they may ask for a 3 or 6 months bank statement during the later stages of the process. This one again, VO will take care, not the CIO. The CIO will just judge the application 'AS IS' and that's why the application is forwarded to the VO for a total review.

The only way they can come close is by way of a Credit Bureau, and that too only your credit rating and not the amount in your account. Everything else is protected by Banking and Privacy Laws. Cheers.

I Agree with that and from true story for one of my friends here they asked him for a statement before they send him the medicals but everything passed and he got his visa now so don't worry but as i always say we have to keep that money as we will need it in the start of our lives there

Salam. Sorry to hear your case brother.Just want to know somehting, How do you know it has been lost? You sent you application on Dec. 1st right? well I understand from tracker you could not see final delivery so you are assuming it is lost. But it's only about 20 days orso.I hope your money order may cash soon if they received your application. You will not have to wait 2 months to know it is there or not.I just hope and pray that your money order will be cashed soon.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. But I canot track the bank draft. Actually we don't have bank drats in our country which can be encashed internationally. These are all part of sanctions. No visa , Master or American Express CC's, no international banks, nothing. I have asked a friend of mine in Canada to buy me a money order. That is kind of cash. As I have understood, it has been encashed from his account the moment he bought it. It's now sth like a traveler's cheque wich could be paid only to the Rceiver General Canada. I am not able to trace it. Anyway,my friend's banking statement also does not show anything with this regard so far. ???


By the way does my ID by any chance imply that I am a brother? If so pls let me know to change it ;D

Hey Temasek,

Thank you dear for your info. Mine has all three characteristics! Besides it is originated from the one that tops the list!!! It's frustrating though. I am from that listed on the top country, from which I am trying if not to escape for the love I have to it, at least to GET FREE and more importantly set my daughter free and paint her a future in a way that wouldn't mark her as a "top listed" one. We are suffering enough in the confinement of our rullers,we are suffering enough from widespread ,30-yr running sanctions. .PPl. in the customs and inspection sites could simply scan our packages, could open them and search the whole thing inside. As they do, cause my first package that was returned on my request was all torn apart, but luckily the dox and the cheque all were there intact. In general, ppl. in customs have the right to srutinize our belongings because of the general system rulling the world . But they can at least view us too as ppl who are entitled to their very limited humane rights.

Sorry, I'm so stressed. Deeply desperate and at the same time truly thankful to you and other members who are trying to ease my worries and give me hope.

I had my suspicion when I first read your posting. I believe it’s highly likely that your application is stuck in Customs – like you said you can’t blame them for that! The condition of your first application upon its return also suggest that they do have a closer look at some packages. Unfortunately with the holidays, weather, etc. it may take them a while longer to have it back into system for delivery to CIO. I and many others are certainly praying for that for you.

Scary stuff, really does feel like the gates are closing on Canada. I hope we can all get in before they implement the changes too, especially as whenever they make stuff stricter, it has an effect on earlier/existing applications. For example they announced that they will be making it harder to get LMOs in April 2011, but already people are having their LMOs denied for weak reasons.

Hmm scary stuff indeed. Really hope they complete the FSW2 applications within a year, since it sounds like it will be more difficult to renew current LMOs, and that could hamper existing FSW2 applicants

Yes, Wayne, as per a email reply from a VO that we had circulated last week, the VO would contact the applicants once they receive the physical file and start to process them.

Right. So actually some of the November PER applicants' paper files may already have reached their destination VO, but won't get a communcation until the VO start to process them and we do not know how long that will take because we don't know whereabouts we will slot in with the existing pre-June-26 applications at VO.

Categorically not. CIO have no authority to get your bank details and the bank cannot legally tell them anything without your consent.

Visa office may ask for additional proof of funding documents if they are not satisfied with the ones you have sent, before a final decision is made, but neither visa office nor CIO can obtain any details about your bank. They will ask you for further evidence if they want it.
