With the open transcript and PCC, in the manila checklist photocopy of transcript will suffice and PCC (NBI for us) is not required initialy. But with your IELTS (I know someone whos IELTS was expired over a month and was returned) and the VO label thats not good. I wish I could say something good about it, some forumers here before had their files returned because of wrong VO. I hope I am wrong. Anyway, good luck.

Just a suggestion, book yourself to the earliest IELTS schedule ( just in case they will ask you for another one without returning your file). I think the earliest is first week of january and the schedule now is easily filled up.
Thanks for the help, I just checked and it says "Language test results must not be older than 1 year upon submission"

Hi kuwabunsi:

You still have all the time in the world, only 76 applicants in your NOC. In my opinion there is a good chance they will send your application back, and it will take about two months. But what you can do in the meantime makes all the difference. Quickly apply to take the IELTS exam again, so the results would get to you before your application gets back from CIO. Order new transcripts, and don't open them this time. You don't need to include your PCCs, but if you can get them great, do so. Read the CIO general guidelines for submitting applications, and VO specific guidelines, inside and out so you comply with everything they say. When your application gets to you, hopefully in one or two months, correct everything, include all the new documents and send it off right away... If you do all this, you have only lost two months!! What is that in a lifetime?? Don't give up!

Best of luck,
Cam
Thanks for your help, I will follow your advise. But for PCC do I need to send it with the application? My checklist does not require it, is there a link that says otherwise?

I applied for 1 AOR (that is initial application for eligibility) in Start of Nov 2010 to NS Canada from Pakistan with full documents that is bank draft, Bank Statement/proof of funds, original transcripts, employment certificates, Police verification certificates, IELTS score, passport photocopies of all family and myself, etc etc.

Is application with complete documents needed for initial eligibility ?? If yes or If not, in both cases what will happen now ?

I had checked from Bank a few days back and they informed that my draft has been cashed.

For initial eligibility: All application forms+ all documents required by both CIO & visa office checklist is needed
If you pass eligibility test then you will get PER(formaly known as AOR)
If you fail then your application will get returned to you.
Applicants might need to wiat approximately 4 months to get their PER!!!

Congratulations Jignesh, I wish you all the best for the rest of the process.

So that makes two for yesterday and 6 in all for the week so far. Not bad in my opinion considering they are fighting off blizzards and snow storms. Keep it up CIC. ;D

@ Dr Hasib
Thanks.
I checked from the Bank and they told me that my draft was encashed and also told me the date of encashment which was 15 days after delivery of application in NS Canada. Please tell me does this indicate if my application has been accepted or does this indicate only that Canadian authorities are quick to cash drafts?

Well, many congratz to our only PER of the day, Montrealgirl :)

I honestly think they are giving out many PERs everyday, but people are not reporting them on this thread. For example, Saby2 is not even in the forum database and Akshkumar has not posted since October 27...

The way I see it, if we don't hear of PERs for a few days, when we do, by one of our regular posters, suddenly we will be ahead by a few calendar days (application received calendar days). So don't let it bother you if we are not hearing about them, in my opinion CIO is handing them out anyway...

Damn the cold weather finally reached my neck of the woods, tonight 5 degrees Fahrenheit ... just showing off to my Canadian friends :)

Canada immigration appeal system called for rejected visitors

Canada, 14th December: The government of Canada is likely to consider introduction of an immigration appeals system following an introduction of a bill in the House of Commons.

The bill has been introduced by MP Olivia Chow, a new Canadian Democrat. It will enable appeals to be made for refused Canada visa applications. Such a system of appeals is already in use for Australia visa and UK visa applications.

As of now, Canada immigration system does not have any such provision for rejected or refused Canada visa applications. So, all applicants whose Canada visa applications have been rejected by the immigration department have no option but to make a fresh visa application.

According to official figures, nearly 20 percent of the total Canada visitor visa applications received every year by Canada immigration department are refused and the main reasons for such refusal are misrepresentation of facts and incidence of fraud.

However, several legitimate applicants wanting to join their relatives for important functions in Canada including marriages, baby showers or others also get rejected by Canada immigration officials and do not have any recourse once their application receives refusal.

And the fact that the total application cost for Canada visitor visa of $75 per applicant is non-refundable adds to the woes of the applicants.

So, the new bill introduced by Olivia Chow will urge the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada for hearing the appeals.

Every year, Canada immigration department receives around 1 million visitor visa applications.

Pointing to the proposal for an appeal system for rejected Canada visa applicants, Chow said that the aim is to bring increased transparency and fairness in the Canada immigration system.

Australia requires all rejected visitor visa applicants to pay $1,400 for making an appeal and the amount is reimbursed to the applicant in case the decision gets reversed. In the UK, there is no fee for making an appeal for the rejected UK visitor visa applicants.

It is being hoped by the bill will increase the awareness of the public towards the plight of the rejected Canada visitor visa applicants whose family members or relatives live abroad.
