I was wondering how long should we keep our bank liqidable assest/ amount. As i have been trying not to use the amount i had mentioned in the file applied since october 2010 and now i am running out of money i need to get some money out of my account i had saved. The thing is that i am a november applicant so will take few more months to get my 1st AOR so folks who have already got AOR and experts please suggest what has to be done and how long should i keep the money as mentioned in the cic application?

If CIO are satisfied with initial proof of funds you will not usually be asked to show it again until you complete your recording of landing. When you complete the record is of course up to you as long as you complete it within 1 year from the date of your medical.

However, CIO or visa office can ask to see proof of funds documents or further proof at any time during the process, so I would spend as little as possible from the original amount saved.

I believe visa office usually give 60 days to get further information to them so if you only spend an amount you can get back within this timeframe you should be ok.

Just to provide some perspective, a wicked storm is ripping through eastern Canada and power is out in large areas of Nova Scotia, although Sydney was not named. Today, and possibly this week, might prove to be a time of reflection rather than celebration. In other parts of Ontario, 300 motorists are stranded in their cars. Military helicopters have been sent in to rescue them, but they are battling high winds and blowing snow.
