By God's grace I just got a mail from CIC confirming my final eligibility, the content is same as per earlier AOR confirmation told in this forum and the file number is same as told by the CIC call center agent yesterday.

i sent an email to cic yesterday and after 17 hours i got their reply as follows
Good Morning.

File # B05-------

Your application has been received by our office, and is currently awaiting review by an officer.

hope that i have half the luck of bindu and get my AOR quickly by God's grace

I just called CIC to get the Client Number, interestingly mine was just 8 digit numeric, no B at the start or anything. I think she said it was the same as my work permit number, but I haven't checked yet, sounded like there were multiple numbers. She said my application hadn't been processed since August, which I found extremely difficult to believe, and she then gave me the same "33 week delay" line which others here got, which I'm very skeptical of. We shall see what happens.

I am convinced the call centre you phone don't have the up to date details, and that their standard response will be "we haven't started your review yet, wait 33 weeks" until you actually get the AOR.

Hi Canada Jimmy,

You need not worry as the agent might have told you the UCI: ******** which is only 8 digit numeric, the AOR /PER contains two set of number the UCI and the Application number which starts from B*********.

You too would get the AOR mail just like me. Also send a mail to CIC and get confirmation of your application status via email.

Indeed, this does make sense. Thank goodness for this forum so we can reassure each other and cut through the nonsense. Did any of our AOR'ers phone up and get this response beforehand?

EDIT: Thanks Bindu, that explains it. She was saying that this number is what appears on your PR card and even Citizenship later on and follows you through your immigration "career" so to speak ;D
Jeez they can't even give me the right bloody number, I specifically asked for the client one. I was thinking of saying "I thought it was supposed to have a B or something at the start" but I thought that would sound a bit weird.
