Ya I understand that, Edwin! That's why I was surprised why mycan is facing the reverse issue... i.e. his RTO is Mysore but they told him they cannot issue the authentication letter for his DL, then who will??!!!

ask them for the driving license particulars surely they will provide

You have to show the equal or more than the list provided by CIC based on number of persons (PA+Dependents).
No compromise on that.
You may be denied entry if you do not show.
Please do not take chances.

I got it in 5 weeks. Average 3 to 6 weeks.

Oops that's weird! Why can't they give if that is where they issued it from too? In fact in my case it's the reverse... My RTO is Rajkot and am residing in Ahmedabad since 5.5 years... But Ahmedabad said only Rajkot can issue!!! Does this have a reason you could know of / guess?

They do not want to authenticate the DL issued by themselves.
They do not have even letter head. Can you beat it?
