Hello everyone,

I know it has been a while since my last post and I'm sure most of the people here now may not even know me.That said, I'd like to make a little post to let you know about how my last month and a half have been in beautiful Vancouver.

I moved here about a month and a half ago and I can't believe everything that has happened in so short a span of time. I'm already in my own apartment, have passed the first set of pharmacist registration exams and have found a job in a lovely little pharmacy (in the most beautiful place I've ever seen) where I am interning until I complete the rest of the examinations. To be honest, I've been truly lucky and blessed with amazing people around me who have helped me every step of the way. Thanks to them, I've never felt like a stranger here; in fact, this place FEELS like HOME!!! Having lived in Dubai all my life, it's almost strange to find myself in a place where I feel like I actually belong.

Now, I don't want anyone to think that it is all peaches and cream here. The truth is you will be challenged, this place is very expensive and unless you move here from a country with a higher currency rate, you'll be spending a lot of your savings much faster than you accumulated it. Without a credit history it is incredibly difficult to get a lot of things done, so you need to be patient. The only pointer I can give you is to stay positive, make sure you plan things well and formulate at least 2 back up plans in case the first one goes up in smoke. If you don't know anyone here, make sure to book yourself into a decent hotel so that you have a nice place to stay when you arrive. Trying to save money by checking into a flea bag motel will NOT help because you'll get depressed and feel 'homesick' faster than you can spell 'it'. Next, make sure you have enough savings, I know the minimum POFs are mentioned over and over again but I would recommend bringing in at least double that amount especially if you are in a regulated profession because you will NOT be earning as much as you are used to until you get your registration completed.

What else? Make sure you put yourself out there and make friends. Canadians are amazingly nice people and are always ready to help, just make sure that you are ready to help out when its your turn as well. As a very dear friend of mine here says, 'What goes around comes around'.

Dear friends
This is inform the forum that I have got my PPs back with the Visa stamped on it . Date of VISA issued is 14th feb.
This happened in the evening at around 5.30pm when I had sent my driver to bring some snacks when the driver returned he not only brought snacks but also the packet which was handed over to him by the post man. ;D ;D ;D

I want to thank all the members of this forum who directly or indirectly keep helping people like me by their post and encouragement.
I also pay my gratitude to Seniors like Mitali, Sonir, Satyasuman, Canadestin, Paramvir who have kept guiding me and others.
I know I am still missing names but the truth is that name is not important as most of us do not really reveal our real identity but
keep helping each other selflessly.
IMO the forum is like river where water (read Members) keeps changing. but every one who takes a dip into it comes out totally recharged.

Hello Guys,
I have been following everyone's post but never posted anything on the forum. Everyone seems to very helpful on this forum so I really appreciate if anyone can help me out. I am March 2011 applicant and ecas status is RBVO and nothing has changed since then.I had applied from USA and my VO is Buffalo but recently I moved back to Nepal .I did change my address and my address has been updated in Ecas but one word is missing . I did email the VO in reply they said not follow Ecas cause Ecas is only for applicant within Canada. My question is how can I find out if VO have my accurate physical address. I would appreciate a lot if there is anyone who has an answer to my question.

Dont worry. E-CAS doesnt show correct addresses some times. Ignore it. CIC will definitely have correct address in their system after your email.

Well today I got a call from CHC, New Delhi and she were asking abt if I send the 6x PP size photographs of each family members or not !!!

Well I explained most of the documents I sent on 3rd Feb (RFRF DD, PP and PCC) and Photographs on 8th Feb, later she said OK she will check it and get back to me if not found, but she will find it for sure as she has just started opening the packages received by 4th Feb.

So, imagine how slow they work !!! :-[

LANded yesterday Toronto at 18.00 was very excited, went to immigration counter they stamped my visa & sent me to the new immigration officer, the lady was nice asked me about the funda I am carrying which I was carrying in the form of cash, traveller`s cheque & scotia bank A/c statement, she told us that we will receive our PR in two weeks time...

Today I went to apply for the SIN number which was at Towncentre Scarborough & to activate my A/C with the Scotia Bank which was at Steeles Avenue, so two of the work completed ... »Got my SIN number & A/C debit card (credit card would reach my address in few days time)...

Started snowing also...

Yeah most important ..

I travelled though British Airways:-

1) Don`t buy liquor from Delhi Duty free I bought two Chivas Regal which was taken at London Airport by the security at heathrow because there were two options either to get it into the checkin bags which is a big problem due to time constraint because if you have 3 hour even that is less sometimes because of rush during security checks & above all the airport is so big that you have to travel though transit train which takes lot of time...

2) if you are food savy BA is not the right option tooo bad
flight got 3.5 hours delayed also because there was some technical problem with dumping waste of the washroom...

That`s what I went through a mixed experience.. not a gr8 experience with BA, served food very late give breakfast at around 8:15 in the morning & the next meal at 16:15...

But landing here was a truly a different feeling all together...
