Someone answer my question pleaseSmile Forever said:I have one question ....I had a muslim ceremony in september 2010 in uk...and i applied for canadian immigration in jan 2011...However muslim marriages conducted in UK are not legally recognized in UK. And i was not aware of such...However at the time of my application i got to know that civil marriage is a MUST for registering and making my marriage legally recognized...
So therefore i was not able to add my husband at the time of my application...However in order to get my marriage legally recognized we had a civil ceremony in july 2011...
Now i am adding my husband to my application and i am extremely confused as how to explain to CHC and which date shud be put as my marriage date...
I want to use my religious marriage date on the application as now i also have a daughter....
Please if anyone can tell me if its possible for me to put my muslim marriage date with an explanation to the CHC as to why i was not able to add him at the time of application and now that i have had a civil marriage so am adding him...
PLease i need some answers...please...

We received your application for permanent residence on October 7, 2010.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on February 8, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 17, 2011.
Medical results have been received. Is it an error or they actually made a decision
as you may know I have submitted New Born's PP on 28th Dec to NDVO
and my address was missing from 27th Jan 2011 onwards
thank you for your valuable comments.

you may put the civil marriage date as your date of marriage.
about your child as per the canadian immigration rule you can add your dependant children to the application so you can add your child to the application even if she is born befor marriage (as per the legal doc)
so for the legal and immigration purpose you use your civil marriage date and it is not going to bring you any query about your marriage
And having a baby befor marriage is not a disqualification for immigration application.
AND TO ADD TO THAT
Your baby's birth certifictate will show that who her parents are hence no question of doubt arises
and you can prepare a letter explaing the relegious marriage hisotry as well
as some one was mentioning earlier in some post
IN RETUN TO A QUERY, CIO REPLIED: We respect all applicants and every letter is read here and given due consideration.
so tell them the truth and use your civil marriage date as your official date of marriage
