I would appreciate if someone could help me...

I plan on landing (hopefully, if I ever see that day :) ) in Ontario, but think we will shortly move to live in Vancouver BC. I understand you need to give an address at landing for them to send you your PR card. Well, if you give a Toronto address (UPS post box), once you receive the cards can you move to Vancouver.

Or, you have to apply and provide an address for them to send you your PR card in the province you intend to live? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Cam,

I am not quite sure if you could give a UPS Post box number....are you sure? I will have to check.

Yes, you can move anywhere you want after you get your cards.

Cam,

I am pretty sure you can move anywhere even before receiving your card as long as you are not a provincial nominee. As far as using a PO Box I am not sure, but I don't imagine this being a problem, seniors?

Hi Cam,

You can get your PR card and SIN number in any city you want and then move anywhere else :) Only health card and driving license should be from the place you intend to reside.
If you know and trust someone in Toronto you can give their address, they will mail it to you to Vancouver.

Hi Mitali, thank you for responding. Yes, in the past people have opened UPS boxes from outside Canada and given them as address for their PR card on landing. The reason UPS is accepted is that they don't say it is a PO Box. UPS provides you with an actual address.

The question then becomes, does the PR card have your address on it? In which case if you first give a Toronto address and move to Vancouver, would there be any problems?

Thank you,
Cam

Thank you Mari for your answer, very helpful. :)

@ Rod, yes there were applicants on this board who have successfully used a UPS PO Box, because it is an actual address.

You are required to pay the fee in Canadian dollars or Indian Rupees for yourself and accompanying dependants.Bank Drafts (demand drafts)/certified cheques should be made for the exact amount and in favour of “Canadian High Commission” or “Receiver General for Canada” payable at New Delhi.

No problem...go ahead
