I would certainly advise everyone to ignore this tool and anything it says. It is clearly not functioning in any way correctly and should be ignored until CIC have put it right. I am so sorry that it has made anyone worried about their eligibility.
I think the whole thing from the very first question is flawed.
Both my husband and I tried entering our details as they were when we applied and received different responses. This was because in question 1) it asks what do you wan to do in Canada?
I replied "move there" , which I took to be the correct response if we wanted to immigrate, while my husband responded "work", which he took to be the correct response for our situation. I received a "you are not eligible" result, which we all know to be untrue as we have a permanent job in Canada in NOC A,B or O and 87 points, so we are certainly eligible for Cat 2. My husband got the "you may be eligible to work temporarily" response, which is fine if that is all you want to do but we also want to live there as permanent residents.
Also, as I think I have already mentioned, the list does not include all the Cat 1 list of in-demand jobs, so even if you are on the current list then you are not included necessarily on this checking list and so might be misinformed by it as to your potential for immigration.
Also, the links to the PNP pages provided do not work (at least the two I tried didn't), so it really is very little use as an indicator of eligibility at all.
thanks mitalimitali said:Hi dcho,
I don't think you have enough time to update your PP. I think it takes about a month for such a process. But if can get it done in a shorter period then it is worth giving it a try. However, I am sure VO has the details of your PP with Maiden name and the Marriage certificate to match. Its just that you will have your Visa in the passport with your maiden name.
Why did your agency not inform you earlier?
