Hi - well you can try! But IMO it would be procedurally impossible to switch over to FSW1.CanadaJimmy said:Definitely, I think I'm safe for a month, but any more than that and I'm drifting into illegal immigrant territory
I was going to just find out if it's possible to switch my app over. It's not likely I know but this whole work permit thing is such a drag. When I applied for my the LMO that was refused they stated that they could only give me a year if it was approved, which I think is hopeless, considering Buffalo has a 17 month backlog the other one could expire and then I'll have to jump through these hoops all again -_-
Anyway thanks for the kind words. I think things will work out ok but it's just so annoying.
To be FSW1 they have to check
1) Proof of funding
2) That you have at least 1 year's experience in the past 10 years against the lead statement in the NOC description, and also a substantial amount of the duties listed
3) That you fit into the NOC cap before getting that far
The entire eligibility review at CIO is different for FSW1 and I can't see any way the visa office will allow you to switch channels without submitting a brand new app.
Having said that - there is nothing preventing you making a parallel FSW1 application after 1st July but obviously this will involve fresh supporting documents / work references / IELTS tests etc.
