I am thinking of writing in a letter informing them of the missing 'date' in payment form before they get a chance to return it (recd. on Oct-20-10).

Should I address the envelope to the exact same address? or should I remove the "Attn:SW1-NOC #1122" - so that they don't 'dock'/'hold' my clarification letter because of an NOC cap - I know am freaking out a little bit, but wanted to see what you guys feel?

The downside is that, due to lack of adherence to their 'directions' the envelope might be opened later than usual as well.

I am no expert at this, but if I were in your shoes and was going to write to them, I would include a new payment form dated correctly with the letter I was sending. I would also write everything on the envelop as they have requested, with the addition of: "URGENT OPEN IMMEDIATELY," or "URGENT READ LETTER INSIDE".... something like that. I would also overnight the letter right away. You don't have much time, if they received it OCT. 20th, they will soon open it to check for completeness... As I mentioned before though, the above is what I would do and I have no idea if you will be successful... so make your own decisions.

I have another news to share...this time its a bad one ( for me..)...Today my brother, who is in Canada, got a call from CIC, and was told that they returned my application on the 21st of JULY.....( it reached there on the 19th..)....that means it is lost....my brother said the person was very apologetic, and advised him to ask me to RE-APPLY as soon as possible. My brother discussed all the details like my ORIGINAL IELTS score, the original of my wife's degree in sealed envelop and my original transcripts.......the original police certificates, experience letters.... The person asked him to send the completed application again, anything which cannot be send with the application, write a letter explaining the whole story (that first returned application was lost in the post and all the original which were sent are also gone, so it will take time )... The person asked my brother to be my representative next time....The person also gave my brother his name and employment number, and asked him to write full story in a letter, and said to him ;; LETTERS ARE READ HERE( CIC) AND ANYTHING WHICH IS NOT YOUR FAULT, ARE LISTENED HERE......

I am totally lost.....don't know what to do..where to start again..its so hard to compile the whole application docs.....

I am terribly sorry for what has happened to you. But don't lose faith, do exactly as they say. Don't you have copies of everything you sent them? I don't know the reason they were sending back your application, but whatever it was, just correct it and include it with zerox copies of all your application and include the letter explaining that your application was lost. You can explain in the letter that you are applying for originals of the documents and will later send them when available.

I think what the immigration officer has said is significant.

"LETTERS ARE READ HERE( CIC) AND ANYTHING WHICH IS NOT YOUR FAULY, ARE LISTENED HERE......"

I think if you send your application again, they will pay special attention to it... Of course all this is my opinion. Hope you make the right decisions, DON"T GIVE UP!

I just got know my application was returned byy cic on september 1st but I`m yet to receive it,it has got lost in the mail.The original ilts and all other important documents are in it.Worst of all I don`t even know why it got returned cause I never got the package.I got a letter cic wrote on 18th october and is says they returned it on the 1st September and if I cant find it I should just file a new application.How am I supposed to that when all my documents are in my first package.I`m so upset.Life sucks.

I dont understand this...what kind of people are they? How come documents are lost in transition on their way back to the applicants. That should not be, coz we arranged our documents to be presentable to them and delivered properly and then when they reject it, would tell you your documents are on its way "somewhere". Anyway, goodluck with your re-application and I think its still worth trying.

I think, they are still processing june 2010 applicants, somebody from that month just received his AOR, his application was received i think june 21, 2010.

I am SO sorry to hear your news, Noolan. Not at all what I expected and I hope you are able to dig up the strength and courage to put the package back together. Not one or two, but at least THREE doc packages now lost (possibly more) in a short period of time as they are returned to the applicants. What is going on? At the very least emails should be sent to the applicants advising the date of return so they can be aware if they don't show up within two weeks. My concern is WHERE are they going; WHO is taking them; and WHAT is happening to these very personal documents? Identity theft? If someone is smart enough to realize where these packages are being sent from, it wouldn't be hard to imagine they could be used to steal someone's Identity. I wonder how we can find out if this has just started to happen or has been on going and CIO have not taken steps to prevent it? Ideas?

scarier scenario to me..I hope CIC would know about that.
