Bearing in mind what it says and that we received PER on the 24th Jan and have been RBVO for so long without any further communication, how does this square up with the BFD? Surely we (and others in this time scale) should have reached a BFD by now?
Is it only by ordering the CAIPS notes that you can find this out?
How do you go about getting the CAIPS notes and would they provide helpful information in our case?
Sorry for so many questions :-[, but I am a proactive person and just waiting like this with nothing left to do to affect our case is killing me.
If I knew there was something I could do to pursue and issues the VO might have with our case I would do it at once.
Makes sense to me, especially given the fact that the ones (like me) who got the Med & PP req on the 3rd of March hav not got to DM status till now.CB said:That is for sure VO does not work like our govt offices, where files sits on bottom of pile and new ones dumped over it....in VO waiting is system generated and pops on screen of VO on assigned date.....but system cannot help if assigned date falls on holiday..and my opinion 45 days time is default setting.
No use in ordering CAIPS notes in E-Cas-RBVO,There wud be no information in it,Once File gets In process status and u dont get any thing from Respective VO then it might be worth ordering CAIPS.Dr.Hasib said:I think(not sure) BFD is applicable if our file is "In process"
Yes, to find our BFD you must order CAIPS
i hope you know the procedure of ordering CAIPS
If not, then go through following link to get all info regarding ordering caips:

It's not so easy! Their is no "default" setting & BFD is not system generated. Visa Offices have multiple levels of assessing officers. An associate officer assigns BFD to a file & it depends on many factors (complexity of verifications required, quality of submission etc.). On the given BFD the file may not actually be even looked at & may pass on to another undefined date. The Visa Officer who looks at the File puts notes for the associates to comply with the instructions given. The deadlines what we get on Letters for submission of additional info, medicals etc. is actually not a BFD. What we submit is just kept in file & forwarded to the VO by the associate who then defines the further action to be taken. BFD in fact is not necessarily in multiples of 5 or 10 days.CB said:That is for sure VO does not work like our govt offices, where files sits on bottom of pile and new ones dumped over it....in VO waiting is system generated and pops on screen of VO on assigned date.....but system cannot help if assigned date falls on holiday..and my opinion 45 days time is default setting.

For e.g. in our CAIPS First against a BFD of 30 March 2010 the file was given to a VO for review on 25 May 2010.
I have discovered all this through CAIPS.
Best way to understand this whole process is to order CAIPS & you will see that nothing actually happened on your file 'apparently' (as per CAIPS) on that particular date !!

I wonder, where is Indira, Where is Anil????
Do they think, they have almost got the Visa so they can leave us?
Well the thing is that we cannot be sure, certainly not after looking at CAIPS, that the interpretation of BFD as we know is true or not. I feel Visa Offices are running some parallel systems to manage these dates that we are not aware of. Yes you are right about managing thousands of cases & some systematic approach to it, but the BFD thing as we know it, doesn't seem to hold good if you look at your CAIPS some day !CB said:Thanks for ur input Yukon....I agree report /collection and filing is done by associates ...and he/she may put file before Visa Officer before BFD.....But it is upto Visa officer to have a look at file before BFD....Now imagin tens of thousands of cases being processed....there has to be a cross referal system by dates , so that if an associate forgets or dumps file in cabinat than it may not see light of the day....BFD is assigned by system on routine basis, and Visa offices at least looks at the file at least once and decides what more is required,
I suppose they got DM .. must be celebrating....canadaforall said:Dr. Hasib,
They are busy planning their journey to Canada. They should come and support us, just like Qorax and others are doing.
But in most cases, the change to IN PROCESS on ECAS as actually lagged at least a fortnight behind the actual start of processing, because people have been receiving the change on say the 16th May, but their ECAS than saying that they began processing on the 3rd May.CB said:No use in ordering CAIPS notes in E-Cas-RBVO,There wud be no information in it,Once File gets In process status and u dont get any thing from Respective VO then it might be worth ordering CAIPS.
Not sure, just busy getting things ready I guess. It doesn't mean they have "left us"!Dr.Hasib said:Question:
