Application Status

Hey guys,

I sent my application about 2 and a half weeks ago and I still have not heard anything back. I was under the impression that once they received it they would send me a letter in the mail. But I have not got anything back which makes me worried. Should I call them and ask them about it or can / should I not do that?

Hi,

They received my application almost a month ago on January 25 (It was delivered by courier and was signed for, so I know it is floating around somewhere in Mississauga). I have not heard anything either. I called the IRCC call centre today (twice) and both agents told me that even my receipt information has not been entered into the system. I am basically in limbo as they told me if the IO who has my application has not opened it and/or not entered it into the system, there is nothing they can do at the call centre. They also told me it's not unusual to take more than a month to get AOR1.

I don't know if there is some problem with my file and that is why it's taking a long time. For 2.5 weeks, I think it's still early. I read some other posts today saying that they were processing apps up to Jan 30 now. If yours was received after this, wait a few more days. You should hopefully hear something by the end of the week.

If not by the end of this you ll hear something beginning of next week hopefully...aor1 been taking 4/6 to be received, if it gets because sometimed applications never gets it.

I sent my application on February 2 2017 and still have not gotten a response through email or mail. Should I be worried at all?

no.

to see when other february applicants start getting Acknowledgement of receipts, go to the thread specific for february. it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 60 days.

it is also good practice to check the threads for the months before you applied to see how they are progressing. if you see dec/jan applicants getting notifications, that means february will see it soon.

CIC is weird and not consistent. You might get AOR, you might not.

I applied July 2015 and didn't get AOR until Feb 2016, while loads of others got it before me.

FYI,

Our application was received on Feb 3 and received AOR1 on Feb 23. Outland application mailed from Sweden. Account linked to my wife's account this morning...

I applied June 2015, sent a letter with a courier and CIC signed the delivery. Then I received the acknowledgment only in Jan 2016
