Also, provide some details on when your application was received, and when you got your aor, etc. You can also mention why was there a need to send an updated reference letter (basically you miscalculated your work experience as you were not aware that CIC considers full time experience after the degree is awarded in an official convocation ceremony, and not when the post grad work permit is received and you have started working full time).

I hope that helps.

Hi Guys,

If you have noticed in my last post, I indicated that my application was received in August 27, 2012. I just noticed that in my application I only claimed my work experience until July 2012.

I asked my employer to provide me with an updated reference letter that shows I have also worked in August.

I just wrote a letter explaining my situation and was hoping if one the seniors could kindly take a look at my letter and tell me if I need to change anything. I really appreciate it in advance.

Application: xxxxxxx

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to provide an update of reference letter along with supporting documents to my application. I have applied under Canadian Experience Class and my application was received on August 27,2012.

I originally have indicated in my application that I worked for XXXX studio for 3 months. However, I wanted to add an additional month of August since this experience was also gained before my application was received. I am still working for the same company and I have attached a recent reference letter along with my pay-stubs.

I really appreciate it if you could kindly consider this letter to update my application. I do apologize if this may has caused any inconvenience for you.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXX

could someone please reply to my post? I am so sorry for being impatient. Thanks again in advance.

Could someone please reply to my question? Thanks.

1. If you have the required period of skilled work experience even without this "extra month", I don't believe there is a need to update the letter but if you still want to, no harm done.

2. If you may be short on work experience without the "extra month", then you should send an updated letter. In this case, you can say that you have been working for company XYZ from (start date) to "present"(since you still work there) and that you had worked for a total of X months(not 3 months as the previous letter indicates) before submitting your application. Then ask them to kindly use to the new employment letter and attached paystubs as evidence of your work experience. Hope this helps!

Hi Kaur,

Yes, I got the same response :) it is nice that they acknowledge the receipt of the email.

We shouldn't have sent the letter via mail. This will duplicate their efforts. Anyhow we got our applications updated with latest reference letters, and that's what matters the most :p

@SenoritaBella

Thank you so much for your respond. I just sent all the updated documents via email and explained to them that I received my official confirmation letter of graduation on January 13, 2011 and therefore, I calculated my work experience after receiving my post grad work permit on February 18, 2011.

Hi All,

It has been almost 8 days since I sent a letter to ottawa to add additional documents to my application. However, I haven't heard back from them yet. Should I go ahead and mail my documents to them or wait?

Thanks

Following is the automatic respond after emailing them:

We have received your email sent to the Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa ("CPP-O") and

will respond to it shortly.

Please note: if the information requested is available on our website at www.cic.gc.ca<http://www.cic.gc.ca>,

or your application is still within standard processing times

I sent them my updated letter through email on Nov 19, I got an auto reply. And then, they reply on Nov 20 saying they attached my letter in my file which is very nice of them. That was surprisingly fast respond. I guess I was in luck. But I shall cross my fingers, hope they let my case slide.

Can you please post the email address you used to send your letter? My employer did not write my job responsabilies (noc 3233) on the initial letter I attached to my application submitted in July, now I have a new manager who is willing to provide an updated letter. Seniors, do I have to count the hours up to date or keep the old number of hours and just attach the missing part of the letter? Thank you.

I use this address OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca

@Kaur13 , I'm glad they could update your file! Hopefully everything will go smoothly from here, Good Luck!
