No , I applied in August and got my AOR in septmeber. My ecase says my application processing. I really don't understand why they rejected nick22 application. I was told that my work experience counts since the moment I get my work permit which was in February 2011. This is so unfair.

I was under the same impression too. The question is if you completed 1 year of work experience from the date your degree was conferred at your convocation to the date your application is submitted. In my case it was 9 months so they rejected my application. I submitted my application in March 2012, received acknowledgement of my application being received in June 2012, and my application was rejected a couple days ago. I would suggest that you send them an updated employment letter as soon as possible (provided you have 1 year experience now).

Guys, I have a question on re-applying. No where in the email I received from CIC do they even state re-applying as an option. Can I re-apply straight away or do I need some approval from CIC? Also the fact that my application got rejected the first time, would that work against me on my second attempt? I hope it is a completely independent valuation.

No permission needed - you can just go ahead and reapply.

You don't need an approval from CIC regarding re-applying, you can go ahead and gather the required documents and apply again. I believe the only difference between your upcoming application v.s. your old one is you'd have over 1-yr of work experience (positive for you!) and you'll need to check "yes" when they ask you if you've been rejected for a visa in your application. it's optional but you could attach a cover letter stating why you mistakenly counted your work experience prior to receiving your diploma. You should be fine, don't worry and good luck!

OMG ! I just applied in end of September. Haven't received AOR yet,

I CONVOCATED Nov.16.2011.
I got work permit Sept.16.2011 (way before I convocated)

I mailed application and it was recieved Sep 27 2012, credit card was charged Oct30.2012

So I'll be just short 1 month and have to reapply ? This is STUPID

Can I send them an update letter to be added on my profile ? Or even withdraw my application and re-apply right away ? If I was to be rejected I don't want to wait for another 6 months just for them to formally reject me. My work permit only valid until Sep 2014, I don't want to waste my time. Can any one help ?

Since your credit card has been charged, it's safe to assume processing has begun. If you withdraw the application now, you won't get a refund. From the OP's first comment, it seems he/she received the rejection email about a month after receiving the AOR.
Since Nov 16th is this coming Friday, if I were in your shoes, I would hold off on withdrawing the application. Then get a new employment letter signed after Nov 16th and mail it by express mail to CPP-O including an explanation and ask them to kindly include it in your file. Be sure to state your client ID, date of birth and that the new letter replaces the old one. You can also email a copy to CPP-O just in case. Hope it turns out well for you.

THANKS SO MUCH. I was seriously about to reapply things all over again.

I'll sure do that (both mail and email). I'll get my boss to sign it Nov.16, or should I tell him to date it Nov.19 just to be on the safe side ? I'll keep you guys updated

Nope the op applied in march and received aor in june and got rejected like couple of days ago(November) so it took them roughly 8 months to reject his application.. it is very heart breaking...

It is... hopefully things turn out better for sp4078.

Better to have it dated after Nov 16th to be on the safe side... so Nov 19th will be fine.

I'm totally on the edge now. It's said on the website that if the application hasn't been processed, your fee will be refund (they have to take it, in order to refund). I am under the assumption that they will start processing on the date of the AOR. Since I haven't received it yet, should I try to withdraw it, and see if they will refund it ?

And, how to withdraw my application ? does anyone know ? Will they return my application as well ? Or should I just go ahead and prepare all the docs again. >:(

I can't tell you what to do but you can certainly speak to an immigration lawyer. I believe to withdraw, you have to send a written request. I know any documents submitted become the property of the Canadian gov't so I'm not sure what happens in the case of a withdrawal. Goodluck!

I certainly appreciate your advice. I'd go ahead and send them a letter, risking wasting 6 months to get them reject me.

Because either way, withdraw or being rejected, I'd still have to apply again, so might as well gamble a bit. I think it's worth a shot to send them the new employment reference letter, just hope they would consider or reject me faster so I can apply.

Hi,

I started counting my working hours after June 2011 and I think it should be fine. I really appreciate if one of the seniors also take a look at my calculation and tell me if I am correct. Please help me out!

Thank you,
