Hi everyone, first time caller, long time listener who has a few questions about various odds and ends, hope you all can help out

I did try the search function! I can imagine that these questions are asked a somewhat frequent basis, so I had a look first to see what I could find and it didn't really relate to a couple of the questions, but I apologize if some of our questions have been asked a lot!

Anyways, as my wife and I are getting things filled out, we wondered about the UCI, she is the principal applicant and I the sponsor. We are living outside of Canada at the moment after having lived in Canada for a couple years and some change.

My wife's CIC account is in her maiden name, If we use that previous account (which has a UCI that is connected to her two previous visa's in Canada) will that be fine? Will her name be updated to her married name once the application is received and linked if we use it or is it best to create a new account in her married name?

In regards to proving intent to live in Canada, we are a little foggy on this. We have or are in the middle of obtaining quotes for shipping our goods back to Canada as well as quotes for medical and dental benefits. I know that probably won't cover it, so what else can we use to prove that we intend to live there? We still operate a bank account in Canada and we do have dependent children that live there. Just need some idea's, I suppose.

if the PA already have an UCI, include it in the application. if it is in a different name. add an explanation letter that states why .

Hi, thanks for the reply! Just so I'm clear, you mean attach a statement from my wife that states that her UCI from previous visa's are in her maiden name, but we are now applying for PR under her maiden name?

Wouldn't they connect the dots once they see her passport details as well as her maiden name in the "previous names" section of the application? Or is it just good to add this statement for clarity?

The name is self-explanatory and does not need a letter. The name in her passport is the name she uses in the app.

Letters from family and friends confirming the move, transferring money back, looking for jobs, looking for a place to live. If you have dependent kids in Canada, that is a pretty big tie.
