Application Package returned due to missing document

Urgent Help Needed,

My CEC application was returned as spouse's birth certificate was missing. However this was not part of checklist. The complete application package with photographs and application fees was returned?

1) Can I resubmit the same application with reqd document?
2) Do I need to repay the fees or the one paid previously can be used.

Any responses to it will be highly appreciated

Yes you can reapply. The Spouse Birth certificate is part of the checklist

Yes, you can apply again of course.

If the fee has already been charged then you will have to repay the fee(s).

Birth Certificate for spouse (or generally any personal/background documentation) is required and is on the checklist.

If the application package has been returned, then the fee has NOT been charged. Apply again with the same fee. You will not need to pay again.

Thanks Everyone for prompt follow-up, I paid fee via online, so my CC was charged immediately, along with app pkg the fee receipt with barcode was sent. That too was sent back. The fee was not returned back to my CC, so what I understand is I resend the same application pkg with the missing document and teh same fee receipt , hope that should be ok? Plz advise?

I was not aware that it was possible to pay online for CEC before submission. I assumed you either pay via draft/money order/cert. cheque or include Credit Card details (number, expiry, etc.) and they charge you once they confirmed documentation is complete and before sending you the AOR.

With what you're saying, do you mean you never received AOR? If that's the case, then I'd say you can use the same fee receipt again.

Call CIC and confirm to be sure.

It is possible to pay online before sending the application. That's what I did. Your credit card gets charged, but the money is not "tied" to a specific application until your application is accepted. Therefore, if your application gets returned, that receipt is still available for you to resend. Your credit card will not be refunded unless you decide you don't want to file an application, and then contact CIC to refund the money.

Hi thisisauser, just FYI... I paid the CEC application fee online with a cc on the website. The cc was charged right away and I was able to print a payment receipt, which I included in my application package. I was always wondering why everyone was talking here about the cc not being charged yet... I actually didn't know that most applicants just included cc details in the application.

This happened to me afew months ago.
Yes you can resend the exact same documents, including the SAME payment receipt you used the first time.

They have verified all the documents and checked in pencil on the application forms.

No worry. That happened to me when I applied. Just add whatever you missed to the old package and send them back again.
Also in the letter they said my application fee WILL BE RETURNED. But they didn't so I don't have to repay the application fee in my second submission.

My spouse visa applications forms returned because my marriage certificated was missing.
I checked my file which they have send me back to me with all supporting documents and i can see my Nikkha Form and Marrige Certificate both are attached in file.

I have no idea why did they say " Marriage certificate missing and gather the missing form and resubmit application.

Any feedback or advice please
