Application Fees

Hello everyone,

I am a Bermudian married to a Canadian Citizen and we are both living in Bermuda. We sent Sponsorship App and Permanent Res. App to CIC Miss. a few weeks ago. Medicals also done (just received a furtherence request from the CIC Medical Office in Ottawa but not a problem). I paid the fees for the Sponsorship, My Permanent Res. App and my little boy's fee online. I did not pay the $490 for the Permanent Res. Visa just yet. My question is: who receives this fee? CIC Miss. or the Buffalo, NY Visa Office. If Buffalo, do I wait until they actually receive my application and send me notice of receipt?

so buffalo is your visa office?

you still select Mississauga because it was originally mailed to mississauga. you can pay it whenever you want to. I would just wait until you have a client ID so it is easier to track it

Hi. Yes Buffalo is my visa office although it will be some time before they receive my application. You are right. Waiting is the best thing. By that time I will be good at it!

It doesn't look like it took long for your Sponsorship to be approved and your file sent to Buffalo - or maybe I am reading it wrong.

Full Application Sent: August 13th
Received by CIC Miss: August 16th
Medicals sent: August 10th
Medicals received: August 11th
Medical Furtherance Request received: August 26 (need to redo a blood test because I have mono antibodies!) At least I know they jumped right on my medicals

I agree, you should pay it after you get your client id. Just make sure that you pay it soon there after. I waited to pay the $490 until they requested it and it appears to have slowed down my application (passport request) by a couple of weeks. Good luck
