Just curious, How many applicants is Ontario accepting fr this yr under the PNP program ?

I believe the processing time is 3 months. Please correct me if I am wrong.

So if the processing time is 3 months fr an application, I don't think there will be too many candidates in the pool in the next few months with 700+ points.

Also, once the whole PNP process gets heated up with more applicants having a score of 400+,they will stop accepting invitations at some point and make some candiadtes wait fr PNP to restart again . This will reduce the number of applicants in EE system with 400+ points which will give more prospects to applicants with lower CRS points (i would like to know ur views on this)

Making LMIA and PNP a requirement, will not justify their old process for CEC and FSW , and that is why they haven't done that yet. So I believe we can pretty much see the draw dropping till 400+ to justify their old system fr a couple years. Slowly they will make LMIA and PNP as a requirement fr PR in may be next 5-10yrs(this makes more sense to me too)

Also in some forums, I am reading that we can participate in both Federal and Provincial express entry. I know there is no legal notice on the CIC site that says u can't participate in both draws, but I would like u folks to confirm that.

I applied fr PNP in NL, they told me to update them, if I get selected in EE (NL hasn't started their EE stream yet, only accepting paper applications). In my case,I dont think I will have an issue, since NL express entry stream to be launched is only based on FSW and not for International Grads.

Moreover applying fr both streams will be totally unfair for candidates who r applying just fr PNP and a total waste of time for a province, if the candiadte gets selected under the EE entry stream.

This makes total sense to me. One EE at a time.

provincial express entry is for getting a provincial nomination that gives u 600 points for the federal express entry and NOT PR....those ppl who will apply for the various PNPs will still be in the federal express entry pool till they get an ITA whether through their existing scores or through their post PNP nomination score+600 CRS....these PNPs will affect the draws by increasing the cut off from a couple of months from now....unless CIC takes out FSW and CEC specific draws and exclude the provincial nominee and LMIA holders there is no hope presently for lower scoring candidates....im sorry my opinion is so negative but thats what i think.....u r most welcome to put ur own views forth

I do agree with ur comments on lower scoring candidates. "provincial express entry is for getting a provincial nomination that gives u 600 points for the federal express entry and NOT PR", this is a obvious one

In a scenario where a candidate applies for both PNP draw and EE draw and gets selected under the EE draw first, the candidate is left with the option to accept or decline a PNP nomination. This scenario is a waste of time and resources for a province and also gives a very strong stand for any candidate. This is a very high probability I would consider, since OONP is selecting candidates with only 400+ points and also CIC has to justify the existing CEC and FSW programs (candidates between 350-600). Hence, many candidates who get invited by OOPNP fr PNP,also have very high chances to be invited through an ITA for CEC or FSW. I doubt if this govt.will let this happen. We will get our answers once the 10th draw happens.

So many new changes happened in immigration within just a few months through EE . I will just not be surprised to see this one too.

I dont think CIC will ever reach their CAP's if they just stick with PNP(very limited) or LMIA only.

I wouldn't worry either, but it's tough not to loose patience when you don't know when the next draw is and whether we'll have to wait 1 or 6 months before an ITA. Patience and perseverance are essential skills for immigration hopefuls. Personally it's my 3rd year trying various immigration pathways. I've done my waiting, I'm tired of the uncertainty.
Big breath and back to being optimistic.
exectly how i feel..
to make the matters worse, when the score came down to 453 I prepared all my documents ( I am at 455 ), had them translated and spend an awful lot of money on them.. now it's been almost 3 months., some of my documents are expiring, police certificates etc., that I will have to get once again, and pay for them to be translated again.. not to mention that I have done the pre medical exam as well., had my entire familly do it..
a lot of money spent that honestly I can not afford .. this adventure is costing me a lot of time and even more money so it is really starting to be painfull at times, and really hard to stay positive and live me life in the meantime :(
to be honest, I don't think the score will come down to 450 again this year., I think that boat has sailed for me.
from what I can tell Canada has decided it only wants immigrant with provinical nominations or secured job offers., so for the likes of me, in an occupation that is not in demand in any part ( office administrative assistant) I fell there is little hope :(

Hi Yelena,

Don't loose hope so soon. I still believe candidates with 400+ points have a good shot in the next few draws,if candidates enrolled in a provincial draw are removed from the federal draw

U got a job in ur field and collected the required documents for CIC, so u did ur part. The next few draws will get u an answer (may be tonight). Fingers crossed

PCC is valid for Six months and Medical is valid up to 1 year.

PNP Nomination and selecting the candidates would take 3 months and till that time you are thinking CIC wont make any draws????

Currently int the EE system, we might not have more than 100 candidates having 700+ points. So in this Month or next we would def see score dropping below 600 points

I hope so. In theory you are correct - as long as there is a draw shortly. The last draw should have removed all the LMIA/PNP people.

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator.

I don't understand this. So those who are applying for PNP right now, say they get the PNP. Do they still have to apply for PR through EE or otherwise?

Yes, they change their EE profile to give them the 600 points and wait to be drawn.
