Hey all

I'm wondering about the processing times for LMIA-exempt temporary work permit in Vienna. I yet have to send all the documents, but my contract starts on 23.8., so I'm in quite a hurry (I have all the documents prepared, my acceptance letter and so on). If I send it on 26.5., is there a chance that my application for the work permit will be resolved in time? Basically it's a very difficult situation as I should also buy my plane tickets soon, so I don't know what to expect!

Also, I didn't understand if I also need to give the original passport or can I just scan copies? Judging by the CIC website, a copy should be good enough, as they want to see all the pages which have something on them, but I find here that some people sent their original document?

I just received MR which is great news for me and my wife.
When we got married our application was already in as common law partner. Immediately we got married I sent the marriage cert to the VO.
The problem now is that we received MR but still in her old surname and he changed her documents to the new surname now.

Since she still has the old and new passport with her our plan is to go ahead with the MR with the old passport then write and scan to the embassy the new passport with name change.

What do you guys think?

No, if you haven't sent the new password it is your obligation to do it immediately. It clearly says on their site that any change should be reported to them. My son's passport had expired and now we have a new one. So, before we go any further with our application I am planning to inform them about the new passport.
And in your case you have a surname change, that's even a bigger reason to do it. If she goes through with the medicals with her old surname that's misrepresentation.

@ elcyuel I don't have idea about work permit, but I believe that they will have in mind that your contract starts in August, best of luck.
@ tobesky86 I agree with akvarium, you should scan and send all documents with new surname including new and old passport to vo before you go to medicals or write them an email and ask what you should do because after medicals you will get PR and you can't just send new passport :

i think you should contact vienna and ask them ...but i think that you need to send them a copy of new passport ...and then they will send you a new medical... so maybe to save tim...tell them that you already informed them about marriage and send new passport so they can send you new medical right away

It is a national holiday, Whit Monday. So it says internet ;D
But it is a canadian embassy, not austrian maybe they work anyway

everything is finished, and they said it should be forwarded by the end of the week. and i must tell you, i am SOOOOOOOOO happy i won't be here much longer...
